Seems like a waste to try and weasel his way out of his punishment. Also makes his apology seem insincere. |

John Scott went from 0-10 games and didn't appeal. Thornton, like Scott, should have gotten more. |

Well forfeiting 84 G's when you make 1 million is kind of steep...don't blame him |

The bruins have long gotten away with suspensions year over year
This time with national media coverage it could not have been avoided or else shanahan and the league would have swept it under the carpet |

really thought Neal would get more then he did, they really need to start handing out heavier penalties, as it seems no one cares & goes for the head more often.
2, 3 or 4 games, big deal, they have no purpose. |

He will think twice next time. Players need to be hit big in the wallet to learn. That is where they feel it most. They should fine them like they do in the NFL. |

While I can't stand weasels like Orpik who pick their spots when it comes to fighting Thornton is lucky he did get allot more than 15 games for the beating he laid on a player who not only wasn't going to fight, but who stupidly decided not to try and protect himself. I think Thornton should suck it up and serve his 15 games. |

You want to stop the head shots, hits from behind, attempts to injure, etc. Fine the owners $1M each time there is a blatant attempt to injure. These problems would end overnight. |

Why is it only 82,000.00 lost?
$1,100,000/82gms=13,415 per game
If my math is right 15 games @ 13,415 per game is a little over 200,000.00, right?

I didn't see the game. But many are say he left the bench. Isn't that an automatic 10 games? Plus 5 more for being such a dumb ass for what he did. |

Thornton has been in the league a while... if he hasn't saved any money over the course of his career, then he is just as big of an idiot off the ice as he is on the ice. Suck it up buttercup.... Do the time. If he did that on the street, he would surely be charged criminally. |

Canuck fans always bring the fun to the party.
80% of hockey actions "on the street" could likely get you charged correctly....
If not, feel free to taker a stick and smash someone across the hands or legs while they are walking down the road and see if that, also, results in criminal action lol
God I hate that rationale

Players are not paid per game.
Players are paid by the lenght of the hockey season. Season starts on October 1st and ends on April 13th. That means 195 paid days. |

He should have got 20 games.
Also Claude Julian should have to give up fried chicken, pizza and wings for a month. |

Not even that, even a clean, hard body check to a person walking down the street will get you locked up.
The only time criminal charges can/should be filed is if you're intentionally endangering the guy's life or post-hockey life (i.e. Boulerice in juniors, McSorely, Bertuzzi). Stick swinging at a person's head or smashing an unconscious player face-first into the ice is one thing. I think Thornton should have gotten more, but it's a far cry from Bertuzzi. |

yeah I could care 3 less what Sean Thornton or any nhler loses in salary when suspended. Too bad. Choose another profession then |
