I think 15 was fine, I figured 12, close enough. I don't have a problem with the appeal, it's a free process and could save him a few dozen K, why not. PA gets a chance to test the process as well.
Problem isn't the 15 for 22, it's the 5 Neal got, the 2 Phaneuf got, the 0 Cooke got. - Double_A

he could also end up with a few more games tacked on - Rayven
I would think (hope) that risk is pretty minimal, even though its possible. |

I doubt it...I hope this process exposes the NHL for the inconsistency in their rulings... |

And at the end of the day, I think that is really the significance of this appeal. If for nothing else, it certainly highlights the wild inconsistencies is NHL suspensions, and I'm sure it gets people talking ... It has already. |

considering the NHL is overseeing at least part of the appeal I wouldn't bank on that.
they'll argue that other events you mentioned happened during the course of play while Thornton's occurred during play stoppage and they will be right. |

PA's in a tough spot here too as they're charged with keeping players safe and protecting their wallets at the same time. Be interesting to see the arguments and how it shakes out. |

On a side note, Don King has contacted Brooksy to see if he wanted to make some easy money in the off-season. |

the league didn't do themselves any favors with this, and especially the neal ruling
if they meet in the playoffs cindy better be prepared to get killed by a good, clean, honest hit, that puts him through the (frank)ing glass, and into retirement
you want to make a statement, the b's can do it, and cleanly - Toad in Nj
LOL wouldn't you think that any bruin before this game would take a good clean hit to crosby if they had that chance? Does this really change anything in that regard? |

he could
or the supposed independent arbitrator can show the league that the arbitrary road it has been on is a crock of poop |

Amen. As could a lot of others.
Z's a chippy (frank)er too, no angel. But he could do major damage on 'legal' hits if he chose to. |

So your saying he lets up a lot? So then why does sometimes he makes a big hit while others he doesn't. I think it is crazy talk to think he has someone lined up for a clean hit and lets up |

J's relatively level headed for a Habs fan.
I do think Z takes it easy a lot of the time, not too often you see him really cream someone. Hard to get inside his head, but I think if you look at a guy like Boychuk compared to Z, if 33 took the approaches JB does on some hits, he'd have killed someone by now. |

Great news!! Brooksy back in practice and having some contact. Heartwarming. Still rememers nothing from the game sadly.
Meanwhile Loui hasn't seen the inside of a rink. |

Bettman rejects the appeal ... Not surprising.
Will be interesting to see what the independent arbitrator has to say about all of this. With the wild inconsistencies in discipline, the arbitrator was really his only chance of a reduction right from the beginning.
Arbitrator now has a golden opportunity to roast the NHL for it's roll-the-dice discipline determinations and expose the inconsistencies to any and all of the morons out there that still don't see it.
Hope he pounces |

Looks like he still needs to decide whether to go that route. I hope he does...there was no way Bettman was going to reduce the suspension; a waste of time for everyone...should go through arbitrator first...
