only reason he would want out is if the Habs aren't willing to pay him. that's all this is going to be about. he'll be happy here if he's paid.
as for Ek bringing up the Roy trade, if he dug a bit deeper, he'd find out that Rejean Houle was let go about 14 years ago. - DoubleDown
I still have nightmares about the night I watched that game, in French, as a kid. I after he was traded I was so mad I took down all my Roy picks and didn't want to put on my Roy road hockey gear for a couple weeks. Man was I bummed haha
But yeah, the only way PK is traded is if he wants out. And if he wants out, then that sucks. But I think he's happy in Montreal. And I think he's happier under Therrien then under Martin (just my opinion. Nothing to back that up) |

I'm not going to outright suggest that PK will get greedy for his big contract, but based on his actions thus far I'd say it's a pretty good assumption. The tax on his salary in Montreal is far worse than Colorado, and despite hot women and delicious poutine, Montreal does not compare to the legal dank nug-nugs in the southern rockies.
I really don't get why either team would rock the boat this hard while doing well, but it's fun to talk about! - PotvinFan

Seriously if we wanted a dman we would have picked Jones over MacKinnon, why would we draft a talented forward to trade for a less potential Dman, if we wanted a future stud, we would have built Jones up in our own system.
This is as bad as Ovechkin to Nashville. |

correct, as evidenced by PK's awful play the last 2 years. - DoubleDown
im reffering to his relationship with the coaching staff and GM, not his play
he didn't play to start the year last year and they didn't really care, he isn't always in agreement with the coach this year either. I don't think their pals |

right but im talking about guys like Doughty, Keith, Lidstrom, Chara, Pronger/Neidermayer |

With Johnson being packaged along with MacKinnon and a first...I don't see how this trade even comes close to helping the Habs on any level...
One more note on this trade "rumor" |

well maybe you have inside sources on the team then, i don't know. i don't know where that would come from. he hasn't made a peep publicly. are they pals? probably not. don't think Bowman was inviting Lidstrom over for Thanksgiving every year. who cares? |

Wow if Subban is worth all that then Montreal must be ready to pay him $12M a year for 8 years.
Come on guys let's be a little serious now. |

So they passed on jones in the draft only to pick one of the most highly talented kids in years to then turn around and trade for subban??? this has to be one of the worst blogs yet. |

Why is there a Leaf fan even commenting on this? Shouldn't you all being getting your golf clubs ready for the playoffs?
But seriously though...a Leafs fan shouldn't be anywhere talking about another teams cap management..just saying is all |

Logic: PK could get traded to Colorado because Roy is the coach and when he was unhappy in Montreal he was traded there... 17 years ago.

Unless there are multiple pieces moving from each team, I can't see why there would need to be a one-for-one swap. The value is essentially fair, but I don't see the motive. Where would Nathan even play in Montreal's top-6? - Flyers_V88

This makes sense because hockey fans instinctively start golfing when their team is out of the playoffs. I think you're having problems with your cliches.
And you're also accurate in your assessment of Leafs fans mismanagement of the salary cap. We really flubbed that one. |
