yes, you are correct. this is the only time in the past 40 years Toronto has had playoff bound teams...just for the record the leafs have made the playoffs 24 times in the past 40 years

you think this sabres team, probably the worst team since the expansion sens (yes they are worse than the expansion thrashers, blue jackets and wild!) will be contenders in 3-4 years? HAAA. look at the oilers, they were supposed to contend after a few years as well and still haven't found their way back to the playoffs...Sabres are at least a half dozen years away from a playoff spot, they are just the worst team the NHL has seen in 20 years hands down..good luck with that "rebuild"

The Edmonton situation is the exception and not the rule !

6 years ! Hell, it didn't even take Burkie that long with the 67's !

So, let's recap:

It is November 15th. Quick is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks. That puts his return at, let's say, January 2nd. That leaves 41 games to be played after he returns.

You are proposing that the Kings give up valuable assets for a short-term fix that leaves either a $6.25M goalie or a $5.8M goalie playing as the backup for the second half of the season? Is that really what you're driving at? I'm not even sure Mike Milbury would go for that as Kings GM.

It's like one of those posters in the mall - you need to stop concentrating so hard and the picture emerges.

Garth I don't think anyone doubts ruff can coach offensively, that's what I consider to be his style of coaching. The difference between the stars and the sabres is the stars have players that work for his system. They are set up well to play offensively, and their defense at least for the last few games has been good in my opinion. I'm not sure on goaltending though, I think they need someone more consistent to really make them a possible playoff team. Ruffs system works, it just depends on the players he has.

Get some new material EH. I didn't know people on this board played in the NHL? You act like it is a fan's fault for being a terrible team for 7 years of their existance. In saying that make sure your team wins something of note before you bash other teams and their fans who are a lot more loyal than yours. You're just angry because Leafs will take over the First Niagara Center tomorrow!
- Babalu88

It's not the fan's fault for being bad but it is also not the fan's that make them good. Toronto is a pretty good team, congrats. Congrats on your hand in helping them get there too!
But really, congrats on the two wins. Toronto is better this year and I'll be the first to admit it. Hopefully by them winning you get a raise in pay at your job or some other factor that benefits you besides being able to talk garbage to other fans who also do not have anything to do with the outcome.

What exactly has Toronto accomplished that justifies this arrogance? Just curious.

What has buffalo accomplished to justify bashing Toronto's cup drought? the answer to both questions is nothing, but the guy is askin for it when you say a team has done nothing for 40 years when your own team has NEVER won a cup, and currently has 1 regulation win through 20 games

He is not going to the Kings . Garth is a league blogger now . I think the only reason it is a story here is because we all want to see Miller as the starting USA goalie . Only thing we have to look forward to this season.

You're the one that is coming in here guns blazing, don't try and make this about me. I'll wait for a Wings or Hawks fan to lecture me about supporting a winning team, thanks. In the meantime, I sincerely wish the Leafs luck actually proving something this year.

108-67-18 is Buffalo's all time record vs. the Leafs

Since both teams have not won a cup but have had similar outcomes in the playoffs since Buffalo joined the league... I think that record stands strongest
