Blair freaking Jones got 5 points the other night......is he going to come up here and replace Hudler if he goes down? (frank) no......nor would he even come close to replacing a guy like Stamkos.

we have depth in the NHL. we have 3 solid lines under our 1st line, what are you talking about, depth from SYR can be used if need be....and of course the term prospect and depth go hand in hand

it has been a team effort, are the goals going to go down? hell yeah, they would on any team. will the effort go down? no, will the system change? no, will bishop start sucking cause stamkos is out? well one would say no but who knows...

stamkos was a big part of where we are, but not the only part
tyler Johnson, radko gudas, mark barberio, Andrej sustr, ondrej palat, Richard panik, alex killorn all played in AHL last season and make up 1/2 our team

so a NHL team 1/2 of AHL players from last year is 1st in the east, countering your point. stamkos isn't the only one who got us here, bishop also has a HUGE roll, so does our DEPTH and defensive systems brought in by COOPER

The nice thing is, however, that the Flame can eat a lot of his salary if needed. What about Cammy at 3.5M instead?

Where did I say they would produce the same as in AHL? Hint...I didn't

But I'll play along. The Bolts and namely Yzerman's mantra with prospects was wait until they are ready. Well for the rookies and others I listed before, they spent 2 full years in the AHL earning their way to the Bolts. In those 2 years many of them won a Calder (along with setting a record for consecutive victories) and then followed that up by making the Calder Finals last year. They have earned their spot in the NHL and Yzerman isn't going to trade for Cammalleri as it would not only take one of those guys deserving spots but also set a very bad precedent in terms of Yzerman holding his word that guys can play here when they are ready. Look at the fact we signed JT Brown and Andrej Sustr as highly sought-after college FA's. If Yzerman makes a trade for Cammalleri now to potentially take Brown's spot what kind of message does that send?

Yzerman will roll with the young guys until they prove they aren't NHLers...after all they've earned it.
