At this point I'm even considering getting Gagner out of Edmonton, yes, that desperate for a centre.

Quick question with regards to the Ducks' goalie situation.

Andersen has been excellent in Fasth's absence. Fasth is currently on a conditioning stint and will return eventually.

Given Andersen's age, games played, contract and waiver issues etc etc etc, (barring an injury or a trade) what is most likely to happen to Andersen in the near future?

- As_I_See_It

He has no waiver issues...

I think you'll find that's the case with almost every successful coach that ever lived.

Announcing the manditory helmet reqirement is now just optional for his players. Gotta get the kids hair flowing in order to turn it around.

You can break it down and look at the thousand of little contributing factors of the team's success, but at the high level, they started winning when he took over. I don't see how the fact that two goalies are thriving in a coach's system is a slight on the coach.

thanks for coming out, your opinion means nothing to me.

im saying how i feel about how poop this team is playing, win lose or draw.

nothing to do with burke making amazing trades, and nonis adding a few nice pieces. Or you know, Reimer having the best goaltending stats in like 30 years.

carlyle is also the only coach in history to not call a timeout in a game 7 when the opposition is making a comeback.

- big_dion

You're criticizing Carlyle for a decision made at a point no previous coach in recent Leafs history has taken us to.

The fact that we even had a lead to blow in game 7 IN BOSTON is about 30 light years ahead of where we were under inferior coaching.

On the off-chance that Wilson had been the beneficiary of some amazing goaltending* of his own and had gotten us to a playoff series against Boston, how do you see that turning out? Me? I'm going to say we lose in 3 games. We literally forfeit the 4th one.

*For what it's worth, Wilson did actually have some decent goaltending to work with during his time here, particularly in the final two years. His system just made everything that wasn't a superhuman feat look like crap.

My bad.

In your opinion what is the most likely scenario for Andersen, Hiller and Fasth once all three are healthy?

I seem to remember a certain Jack Adams winner being hailed as a genius last year, despite getting unreal goaltending consistently.

You hate Wilson, but his system accomplished the exact things you want.

The point in comparing Wilson to Carlyle is to prove that tow coaches can get wildly different results from roughly the same group.

- As_I_See_It

Hiller or Fasth gone. If they were smart Fasth, aside from his hot streak he hasn't proven anything. And he's like 30 anyways. Hiller has been great since recovering from vertigo. Those (frank)ers have like 4 potential starting goalies.
