The primary point wasn't the head but the fact Kadri drove upwards into Grandlund may factor into Shanahan'd decision. I think that hit and the hit on Backstrom gets Kadri 2 or 3 games.

this exploding upwards is a natural action, your knees bend, when you try to force yourself into something you can only go upwards.

I don't really feel one way or another towards either team. At first glance, I didn't think the Kadri hit was all that bad.

After watching it a few times, he definitely goes out of his way to deliver a forearm/elbow to Backstrom's head. That is a textbook example of what the NHL is trying to get away from, so I think it warrants a suspension. I think 2-3 games is warranted here. Just my take.

No I agree...the fact that he got ejected I thought was a bit much...didnt leave his feet and Granlund dipped his shoulder a bit to try and take the hit which only made it worse.

He was probably ejected because the refs didn't want to see anymore incidents involving him. Can't blame them for that, they have to keep the game under control. They probably felt they (frank)ed up when he ran Backstrom and was on a short leash after that.

I disagree I think they ve had the same mentality all along but they are bigger, stronger faster now.

If you hit body on body and then hit the head it's ok.


Only an issue if you only hit the hit.

Don't even know Yeesh, if Kadri gets suspended more than two games this is going to get ugly.
