some people only see talent in the offensive capabilities of defensemen.

the other thing tho.. ranger is on pace for 25 points this year.

- Dozzer

I kept saying give him twenty games and if he is not improving then we have a problem, apparently the coaches trust him on the ice, they must see something others are missing or fail to see.

His 5 on 5 play is one of the best for D-men on the Leafs.

Working your ass off on every shift and being one of the best 2-way forwards in the league are hardly what I'd call intangibles.

So what are intangibles?

Very concerened. I don't know what it is, is the competition (playing vs other teams best players) finally catching up to him?
- peddy-93

I keep hearing he is steady but I don't see it, I see him moving very slowly, having trouble turning and a disaster at clearing the zone most times, I hope it is just a rut but....

A word overused by desperate fans trying to defend a player.

File it in the same category as "classy"

"ooooh, such a classy player"
"such a classy organization"
"such classy fans!"

difficult or impossible to define or understand; vague and abstract

(of an asset or benefit) not constituting or represented by a physical object and of a value not precisely measurable

Armstrong, we all wanted to think intangibles but in reality he sucked.

Well to be fair, that guy couldn't stay healthy if he was wrapped 124 times in bubble wrap and thrown into a bubble ball.

Working your ass off on every shift is a perfect example of an intangible - it's impossible to measure. Are you trying to argue with yourself?

I'm Jk man, but your trading partner has a little more assurance at the moment. That deal will be better for you in the long term.

Phaneuf probably, I think the Leafs have high hopes that one of Granberg or MacWilliams (not lately) will take that 5th or 6th spot next year. Nillson could sneak in there, I have a feeling that this player will surprise.

He used to be a no nonsense, very simple and effective dman, and was an average skater. He seems to be a sloth now, and handles the puck like a grenade. Everyone blames Phaneuf and Ranger for having their brain farts, but Gunnarson has had a load of those lately.

Pretty sure the guy he hits in the corners, or when he crashes the net are pretty tangible.

penner i picked up a week and a half ago via free agency, i picked up o reilly after the first week when some guy dropped him.

i drafted lupul 6th round.

he got toews in the 1st round and stepan in the 8th round.

all in all, toews is the best player in the trade so i figured i couldnt go wrong...even though i have a sweet spot for joffrey and his poophole, i mean lupul

Is it possible to crash the net and hit in the corner without 'working his ass off every shift'?

Face it, the term "he works his ass off every shift" and "he has intangibles" is the same thing.

You just beat yourself in your own argument, congratulations.

I have been wrong, I thought for sure Blacker would be up by now, Eakins screwed him around by playing vets ahead of him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was traded as part of a package.
