Why didn't you Wild fans inform us of Matt Hacketts temper?
How does a goalie get kicked out of the game for unsportsmanlike conduct! - ImThatGuy
I was told that "edge" would help make him a better goalie. I'd still say Buffalo made out pretty well in that trade... though Pommer is tearing poop up so far. |

If O'Reilly is on the block at the deadline, I would love to see a MDZ + Hagelin/Kreider type of deadline....whatever picks or what not that needs to be added to this mix to make it work - DDM-Coga
I see no need for another Avs trade unless they deflate before the deadline. And the Downie trade still stinks like there was something else behind it.

I'd rather see Yak go before any of them. I don't know what his problem is. Even if we're just 15 games in, a player like him should have more than 3 points by now. Problem is is that he won't bring much of a return because of the way he's been playing. I'd hate to see him go for close to nothing and have it come back to bite us later on. - mbxiphos1527
The word is he won't listen to the Coach . Damn shame I would kill for him to be the Sabre's coach . He is very highly regarded. |

Stats are based on the skill of the team, miller is a WAY better goalie. That being said, if i was the ducks i wouldnt trade for him unless it was being done to help develop gibson and they got rid of hiller and fasth. - Djtyczy
Yea that's why Osgood had barely over a .900 save % in Detroit right? Save % is mostly a goalie stay not a team stat, gaa on the other hand. |

I'd think something like Del Zotto and Pyatt for maybe McGinn and a depth dman like Wilson or Sarich. It's fairly equal salary wise. McGinn would provide them a little more scoring depth with Nash out. DZ is falling out of favor with his inconsistencies and probably needs a change of scenery. Seems like a win/win for both. I'd like one of the Avs young dmen like Siemens or Elliott so maybe the Rangers throw in a prospect or pick back. - Ranger71
I could see a trade like this happening. Pyatt would be a better fit on the bottom 6 than Mcginn would and if they dont plan on re-signing wilson it could work.
I also think both barrie and elliot are available now that the avs have Bigras. MDZ could possibly help out the PP |

I think part of that was the language translation thing. He did speak english pretty good. But I would have to assume if English is his #1 language half of the "dumb things he said' are not said. - ImThatGuy

How I see the Avs and Rags.
Assumingly the Rags are looking for offense, or more AV type of players. I could see PA being a player that the Rags would be interested in and he has also played for them before. On the Avs side Hejda is getting older and we will eventually need to find a Dman to play with EJ so I can see the Avs looking at Girardi. This could work for the Avs if they plan on keeping RoR with Duchene, making PA not an ideal fit on that line and no real other ideal fit. It could work for the Rags as Girardi is a UFA after this year and they may not be able to afford him AND Lundquist (and his raise) as well as they have depth on D.
So right now we are at PA for Girardi. However this leaves a hole for the Avs on wing so they might look if Hagelin is available. The avs could throw in Barrie/elliot as well as a 2nd. They could also throw in wilson. From there it is all a balancing game and once Tangs is back from injury it could end up going through and could make sense for both sides. At least as an idea goes it is a plausible basis ( we could debate how we feel personal value goes but ultimately it is about what the Gms feel each player is worth and what they are willing to give up).
Another idea would be one I saw earlier with MDZ and Pyatt for Mcginn and a Dman. Both MDZ and Mcginn are RFA at the end of the year and I could see that being a possibility as well.
Overall a fairly weird rumor but thats at least where I can go with it. Also to note Avs would almost HAVE to take back more salary in the deal. |

Doesn't answer why they need to make a trade at all. Unless it is for G help. Typically the best team in the league, record wise, doesn't upset the formula. |

So why hasnt another team picked him up?
And the media liked him? Are you f'ing kidding me? They railed on him nonstop and made him the biggest scapegoat this city has seen in years. They openly mocked him during interviews, including racially charged jokes. I've never seen any sports media anywhere have the balls to ask a struggling athlete the questions they asked him. Do you have any clue what you're talking about in the slightest? - hereticpride
He was a great interview and hence the media was always gathered around his locker. Scapegoated, mocked, whatever, he ate up their allotted soundbite time with humor.Time that otherwise would have been focused on others to seriously explain why the team was performing miserably. Given the choice of Holmgren's dour puss, calling his team "afraid" or Bryz entertaining on astronomy or the space program, I take "post game Bryz", any day of the week. Never said he stopped the puck consistently enough to be picked up by another team or not bought out, for that matter. |

The team is playing well but we can still improve. Roy and Sakic are still shaping this roster to the way they would like it, as we can see from the Downie trade. The Avs have a lot of players coming up for UFA or RFA so if there is a player they don't plan on keeping past this year it makes sense to see if they can trade them for a player they like.
If there is an aspect that Roy thinks the team is lacking in and wants to improve on I dont think he will be shy of making a deal, standings regardless.
Roy and Sakic's only goal is building a Cup winning team, so a trade is always possible.
Edit: Also, unless Varly is found guilty which at this moment is looking unlikely Avs are actually quite deep at the goaltending position. |

Yes . I'm not saying it as a knock on ott . There is just simply no room in the roster . Our lines are all set and their all working , we don't need anymore guys |
