At some point the Oilers are gonna have to move pieces to add to the future growth of the team. If they keep on with everyone is untouchable. Theyre gonna continue to be a terrible team and will also never understand with defense means. not just the position. But the aspect. They have no future starting goalie in theyre system. I bet theyre kicking themselves right in the keyster for saying Bernier sucked and they didnt need him because Duby was the greatest thing since sliced bread is will be our #1. Sure hes a your #1. But only be default. - poisondhearts37
No one is untouchable, especially not on a team that's doing so badly. But by branding someone with the untouchable tag, you're basically calling out GMs who have any interest to not even bother with anything less than a substantial offer.
Completely agree that they need to move out one of their young stars for D help, but that might have to wait until summer when the cap goes up and there's more willingness to deal. |

Please. Hall is worth MUCH more than both of them even in their prime, its obviously a JOKE. Do you guys understand where we are? this is hockeybuzz, the joke of all hockey news. This is the national enquirer of hockey - digitalbath
Don't give HB that much credit. Its more like the 4chan of hockey, without the NSFW sections. |

Actually, Bertuzzi in his prime was WAY more of a force than Hall has shown at ANY LEVEL before. Hall has hands and speed... Todd in his prime has strength, puck-protection, play-making, a great shot, and a mean-streak Hall could only dream of. |

If I was Edmonton, I'd move Yak, if possible, for a name D. |

Yup, it's finally evident now fully that he wasn't the issue. Sure, there were some guys he may have rubbed the wrong way, but from a playing stand-point, he was good enough to win and that's all we needed.
I feel for him really. He said some dumb things, but at the end of the day, he just wanted to come here and win like the rest of us, and was plastered all over the internet for everything but his actual playing ability. Shame. - Flyers_V88
I think part of that was the language translation thing. He did speak english pretty good. But I would have to assume if English is his #1 language half of the "dumb things he said' are not said. |

I dont think that the Ducks are even looking at one of Eb's, Hall or Nuge. But at some point one of Eb's, Hall, Nuge or Yak are gonna have to get moved for the future of the team. - poisondhearts37
I'd rather see Yak go before any of them. I don't know what his problem is. Even if we're just 15 games in, a player like him should have more than 3 points by now. Problem is is that he won't bring much of a return because of the way he's been playing. I'd hate to see him go for close to nothing and have it come back to bite us later on. |

Spezza for Giroux - AlfieFever
LOL! I'd take it... People hate on Spezza, but the man is pure all-star talent. Easily a top 5 player in the game when healthy. |

Obviously he said things he shouldn't have, and made scenes when he shouldn't have, but when it comes down to it, he wasn't the issue and I really think given our play defensively this year, he'd have only been better than what we saw out of him. The Flyers can now play respectable D, but our offense has gone ghost-mode. |

Yup. Free-agent after next season though. Giroux is top end talent, but not over as long a period as Spezza. Huge salary too. It would make for an interesting trade.

Eakins isnt gonna give him the ice if he isnt putting forth much effort. Before Eakins Krueger would just let the kids have the ice. Kinda like a we suck so what. Let them lose kind of thing. Eakins is trying to prove points. Itll prolly get across when he does it to someone like Eb's or Nuge or Hall. |

Ugh lol, if only the Flyers were willing to move what Nashville wanted...
Would probably take more than Yak and their 1st overall... My guess only, but I'd say the deal would probably look like:
Weber for Yak, 1st this year, 2nd next year, and a mid-tier prospect. |

Maybe he did all that weird crap to try and make being in that locker room more entertaining. Theyre is a giant mess. His weird crap didnt come out in Anaheim or Phx. |

Disagree. He's very young, on an ELC, and is one season removed from being the 1st overall. On a team playing so poorly top to bottom I think he'll be given every benefit of the doubt that his star hasn't dimmed.
If Yakupov goes to market he'll bring in a substantial haul. |

Nah, not even close, Spezza has shown he is a dynasty player when he is healthy. Living in the Toronto area, I get to hear all of the hate towards anything Ottawa and Spezza. However, since I lived in Ottawa for 6 years when I was at uOttawa and then Algonquin, I saw nothing but Spezza showing how brilliant he could be at times. Underrated shot too. |

I honestly think that was part of it... Trying to loosen things up, be the clown, etc. But, I think there was, and still is divides (cliques if you will), in the Flyers locker room. Ever since Pronger has been gone from that room, it hasn't felt right. |

I honestly dont think the Preds ever entertained any trade with Philly. I think that Poile had the go ahead to match any offer sheet once it was known to be an option. If the Pred's could just get some of theyre young talent to score they would be just fine. But guys like Colin Wilson whos got tons of talent just cant keep it going. |

I agree with that. He's unproven and doesn't really have the team to show what he can do when they spend half of their games backchecking. |

The clique thing makes sense. But both of your head coach's and management should take care of that crap. There can only be so much of that left. Hartnell is the last from that big group with Richards Carter and Lupul. Cant be much of a clique left. They should do like the replacements. Just find out of work Hockey players to play in theyre place and scratch the whole team. |

It's not like they play in a system that enhances offensive output. There's a reason they churn out goalie after goalie with top save % (that subsequently do poorly in less structured teams) while every year their top liners struggle to crack 60 points. |

While there is value. I dont think the Pred's even consider Yakupov as an option to theyre team. Sure hes full of talent and his value is up there. Just not the kind of guy theyre gonna be into. Id also bet that they would target Marincin over Klefbom. I dont see anyways Nashville moves Weber to EDM without someone like Eberle going back. Hes theyre kind of guy. |

I was thinking about Eakins doing something like that to those 3,or even J Schultz for that matter, and I thought about what if (when Hall is back) they had an absolutely brutal game and he sent Ebs, Nuge, J Schultz and maybe Hall to OKC for a few games and said you need to put up X amount of points each and you wont return to this team until you've shown that you can play as a team and not play selfish hockey.
Mind you this was after the loss on Saturday that I got the misfortune of seeing live, therefore it was just out of frustration haha. Obviously it won't happen but I think it'd be an eye opener for sure if he sat one of them for a game or two. |

Weber for Yakupov + Klefbom - AlexF
Yeah, was basically trying to mitigate how many good roster players Edmonton would theoretically have to send back.
I would think from Edmonton's perspective, they have done enough drafting and stocking, time to start getting pieces that could help in the now. |
