While I get what you and Al and others say, lets not turn into the the little miss manners blog where everyone tries to be more magnanimous than each other. We are grown men, and often may not act like it, like a drunk at a bar rambling on and on with incoherent ramblings, we have to accept the good with the bad.

What is more annoying than some of the dumb juvenile disputes we have, and I know I am at the center of many of them, is this compulsive rush by many to announce they are offended or appalled by what someone states. Often taking a poorly written generalization and projecting political correctness and moral superiority ...thus announcing...hey everyone look at me. I was the first to be offended.

Like the crazy uncle at Thanksgiving, or the whacked out cousin at the family reunion, we all know where they are coming from....shrugg it off and move on. Too much attention is paid to howling at the moon crap. We all know each other and the passion shared, I think more people wast words and posts on showing their indignation then if people simply ignored it.

This is not an MLS soccer board, where we role on the ground holding a knee everytimes some slides on the ground next to us.

Problem is that the name calling, ETC,ETC has a way of spiraling out of control. It's either "anything goes" or no personal attacks of any sort. I prefer the latter approach. If "anything goes" is your preference then may I suggest you try ESPN.

He could have tangled with Volpati he didn't appear to have a dance partner although that didn't work out so well for Steve Downie earlier in that game.
- jhawk159

So that's when downie got injured? I didn't see it. And what happened with vinnie? It didn't look bad during that brawl but I think that is when he got injured

The biggest issue is many people stay away and don't comment and that doesn't help getting a good discussion going.

If it is personal send PM's and vent...

That is not what I am suggesting at all. I agree with name calling etc... You know that is not my preference Beav. I far too enjoy having the events unfold as they often due in my favor. Yes shallow ego stuff.

Was also making a point about some of the folks that sit there like the thought police just waiting to find any little nugget to feign being offended. And thus blow some of the quick emotion stuff into something never intended.

I hear you Al and others on the name calling. The truth is far too many of us, spend too much time here clamoring for more info. Our compulsions get the best of us.

Downie took a solid shot from Volpati above the eye and he more or less hung on until Volpati realized he was hurt. Downie got a concussion and later was sent to the hospital.

I'm offended that you're offended by the way other people express themselves when they're offended

Seriously, good game yesterday. With Smith on the upswing (at least for a game) and Mills showing well, what happens when Handzus is back?

Well to be honest what Emery did was not a surprise...

The main issue is the NHL ignored it and didn't suspend him while there was a precedent.

The other issue for me is why did the ref just stand there and allow that to go on.

Opportunity to do what? Skate 180 feet down ice to beat up an opposing goalie who doesn't want to take part?

No! More name calling. Joking in part; but the other part yearns for the angry mob in Frankenstein driving Fivineze back into the castle so we can lob our torches over the wall and burn it to the ground.

Story line for tonight is Calgary starting rooking Swiss Goalie for his first game in NHL.

Pure speculation, but from the speed of the trade given the Varlmov situation, one can not help but wonder if karma was served some how. Or if Volpatti had his dinner comped courtesy....

That whole situation was strange. Have a hard time believing you trade a top 6 guy from a 10 and 1 team with statistically teh best PK in the league.

Karma can be a real rough thing...

Yes; sadly...

Something tells me his hatred of Crow is so misguided he'd rather see Khabby getting the majority of the starts...
