It's also 15 games into the season...a small sample size for you to claim Henrik is now human...he has been injured and the Rangers were also on a three week road trip to start the season. Crawford is not an elite goalie....he is a good/solid goalie who plays behind the deepest/best D in the league.....

They're not close to the best so far this year, but it's still kinda early.

1. You and others use the converse corollary that because Q has 2 cups he is infallible. That is the rule, except when it does not work.

2. He is able to get better results more because of the raw talent he has than squeezing blood from turnips. Lets be real.

3. For like the 50th time I will break this down reeaaallll ssssllllloooowwww for you. He changed Toews and Kane, which was hot, which was working, because he wanted to split them up because of Charra. Again premptive move. I hope you are able to understand and acknowledge that on its face.

Before the puck drops in game 1 of the finals. After Toews and Kane dominate the Kings, Q makes his big move. Only to have it fall on its face and go back to what worked to get the job done. If that is genius, then we have very low hurdles for genius.

Don't get me wrong, I will not fault him for strategizing etc...that is his job, but as has proven my point many times over, he often out smarts himself and returns to the status qou.

- TrueGrit

If you are going to make mention of the strategy that doesn't work forcing him to go back to his original plan......then you must also credit the success when he does make a move that improves the success of the team.....I know it's easier to have selective memory but let's not forget-

Moving Bickel up to the top line in the postseason
Getting the buy in and teaming up both Kruger and Frolik on the PK

If having raw talent is so imperative to a teams success making it easy to win cups then what's your excuse for the Pens??? You make good generic points but if your reasoning behind his two cup wins is the star power on the team than anyone...like a Dennis Savard could've taken this team to the Stanley Cup....and as I've stated before and I will break this down reaaaaalllll sllllloooooooow for you....history shows more teams with great talent across all sports win less championships than one would think.....what is the difference for the teams who actually win the prize.....simple...coaching!

And much to the chagrin of many here, will be Team Canadas non elite starting and likely gold winning goalie.

I hope he is the goalie and at bare minimum part of the team....he deserves it.

Olesz is on waivers, stupid Devils. Stan will pick him up for the bottom 6.

C'mon Grit, everyone knows King Henrik is the "greatest goalie in the world"...at least that's what all the "experts" tell us...

...yet the guy hasn't come close to a cup.

And I've heard it said that Carey Price is "elite", yet he hasn't won diddly and was giving up 7 a game late last year.

There's a long list of fine goalies that haven't won squat, yet CC doesn't enter into the conversation and he has a cup...

...go figure.

- ArlingtonRob

Hell, Lu is called elite but is constantly pulled for giving up 6 or 7 goals. If CC starts & wins the gold, they'll say he had the world's best D in front of him ...

and true unfortunately. Detroit will ruin it though tonight. Tied with Winnipeg now but will end up winning. Seems the jets and oilers are only teams to lose to the east. And THE HAWKS
- tomcat24

Don't think you're right about Detroit: Winnipeg up 4-2 half way thru the third.

I never have shorted him credit, just consistently point out where he often...philosophically likes to move preemptively vs doing it re actively. He anticipates a failure, which often does not happen, then reverts back. Not always, but often enough it is noticeable.

I played sports at high levels and know the value of coaching. Most of the best coaches I have come across are guys who prepare their teams and intentionally stay out of the way. All coaches know players decide games.

And you'll be the first one I think of when Stan claims him. Olesz will look mighty fine on the 3rd line with Shaw and Bickell.

The safeties are absolutely horrendous. Their play is a big reason why the run defence is so $hit.

Definitely didn't see that coming. I'm glad, though. Also happy to see the ex-Hawks light them up.

If you take away Morin's shot he doesn't sniff the NHL, no point in playing the "what if" game. We'll see if Morin can be as productive as Stalberg playing in the same role on the same team. You may be sure, but I'm certainly not sold. And there's a decent chance Morin doesn't even hold a spot on the team, seeing as he didn't make the team out of camp.

I know I'm way late to the party here, but I'm playing catch up and can't resist....

Take away StAHLberg's speed, and he doesn't sniff the NHL either.

With his speed, Stalberg is a $3M healthy scratch.

I'd be curious to know what other offers he had, if any. If there was something close, I don't get why he'd go to the Preds as their style of play doesn't seem to suit his game.

Keith gets calls to his agent all the time to promote shin guard companies. He works in a lab testing them.

I have been trying to make my avatar a pair of shin guards, but can't size it and handle the technological issue.
