My worry, as somebody said on the Twitter, is that bad value trades are starting to become the norm for the Flyers...
- Jsaquella

He's made a lot of trades, some definite stinkers. Versteeg(both times), Kubina. But recently I've liked the moves. Downie>Talbot. Alt for practically nothing. Mason is turning out to be an absolute steal of a move. Bob got a very fair return for how he played here. The Carter deal is still one of the biggest fleecings I've ever seen.

I think with all the player movement that has happened in the past three seasons, I would implore Holmgren/Hextall not to do anything drastic. Let these guys get out of this hole themselves, not dig it deeper by giving up on them.

I mean seriously, 2012 was an aberration it seems. What did people honestly expect to happen once you give up two leading scorers who in their prime for younger players, including a nineteen-year-old that came out of a draft right away?

Of course this team was going downhill, but they should be climbing back up the mountain pretty soon.

Did you mean 2011-2012 season? That was the first year after the trade. As strange as it seems, it's been 3 years since Carter and Richards were on the Flyers.

So do you try to trade Vinny and Streit then? At least the latter. Makes little sense why they ended up here this offseason if we're in full on rebuild mode. Not that I particularly want to move them, but devils advocate...

The Carter deal was good. Downie for Talbot was good on paper. Alt looks like good one.

But they weren't a playoff team last year, and this year they are among the worst teams in the league. At some point....and I like Holmgren and I am far from sold that Hextall will be better.

Final

Peterborough - 3
Oshawa - 5

Laughton with 2 goals & 3 assists

- ob18

Does that put him at 30 points, or 25? I don't know if the OHL website is updated

What's up with Connor Brown? A 19 year old 6th round pick leading the OHL in points, with the next closest guy having 5 less points than him.

I honestly didn't know he WASN'T leading the O until I looked at the stats just now....

Of course, the kid's averaging around 2 pts/game and has played 4 less games than everyone it looks like. Pro-rate that out and he's looking at the top 5.

Well centering the most explosive line in the O with McDavid and Fox (I'm assuming the line is Fox-Brown-McDavid) probably helps, ya know?

Pro rated to 17 games (1st and 2nd highest scorers have 17 games), and he'd be in 2nd, with 1-2 points more than the current second highest scorer.

Flyers are 3-2 since the week off. Keep that up and they get 90 points and make the playoffs. We just beat Jersey. We have a ton of good young players. Stay the course and tweek here and there. We'll see were we are in March.

I know this would never happen, but I think giroux might need a change of scenery. If the offer came, since their contracts are similar and pittsburghs so deep on defense, especially in the minors, would you do giroux for letang.

letang is four times better than anybody you got so if you don't like him quit complaining about giroux becauce the way he's playing you couldn't get much more!

I haven't once complained about G. I think he's still injured, as a matter of fact.

Making a major trade like that won't help this team. The Flyers need an overhaul of their D corps, but trading Giroux is stupid, even for defense.

No.

Giroux will be fine. He's not 100 percent and his confidence is shot. He's our captain and will remain so.

There's plenty to complain about regarding G, but talk of trading him is a whole different matter.

We'll be watching him next season. I'm looking forward to it. And I think they made the right decision sending him down. He'll be up in 2014 asap.
