I wasn't talking about the world, not even Canada, but the USA... its the NFL, college football, NBA, MLB, college basketball, then NHL with soccer closing in - Fl Sabres Fan
Well Canada SUCKS at soccer, believe me I played Nationally, we stink, like poo!
I think the NHL is in fine position, they have their loyal fans and Canadians are insane about Hockey, it will never die. Yeah in the USA both pro and College FB are ahead and Baseball too but meh, in Canada Hickey is #1,2,3, & 5.
It's a balance and the NHL is making lots of money is a salary capped league, they are just fine and dandy i am sure |

Don't even have to go back to Landeskog/Stuart (or Perron/Thornton). We've got Nash/Stuart (suspension) this year for those with short memories.
That said, given the hit on Boyle (Lapierre, suspension), the shots that Hertl has taken (including Edler, suspension), the two high hits on Wingels last night (Dougie Hamilton first, then Chara), and Burns' injury... I think most Sharks fans are a bit touchy on head injuries. There's been a lot, and we're only 10 games in.
Great game last night for the Sharks, but came away with nothing. Time to regroup against Montreal/Ottawa (which I'm sure will make the Boston crowd happy). - mage23
Agreed, lots of suspensions early too.
I'm interested to see how the Sharks rebound against the Habs after Rask stole one from them. Habs are no walk over, they just smashed the Ducks. Time to see what this Sharks team is made of |

can you please try to reasonably figure out why this is and not ignorantly "blame" gary bettmen and brendan shanahan for the unfortunate situation you think the league finds itself? - Fountain-San
one reason is they can't get a decent TV contract, who's fault is that? At one time, the NHL was far more popular then the NBA, then David Stern became commish and he turned that league around completely. You need a good, strong, innovative commish and Bettman is none of those things, by the way, I hate basketball and don't follow soccer and been a hockey fan since the Buffalo Bisons played in the AHL, and my feelings have nothing to do with the Sabres bad start, they are going through their bad time, like Philly is and Toronto did for 30 years, every team goes through a bad time sooner or later, cept for Detroit |

I'm not really sure what this is based off of other than the Buffalo Sabres are going through some hard times. The league is turning record profit despite another alienation of its fans last year and ratings are still rising which means the game is growing. . It never really mattered to me whether it beats the NBA or any other league. As long as it is not locked out/on strike. |

Fully agreed. It'll be a much different game with all the Habs speed. To me, the Bruins looked more like the Sharks of past years with slower/big bodies (Iginla, Lucic, like Clowe) while the Sharks have retooled with a lot more speed that should make for a fun back-and-forth game with the Habs. Here's hoping the Sharks get to Price early to get some of that confidence back given the last two games in DET/BOS have netted a total of one goal in regulation.
Interesting that there weren't many penalties called last night. There was interference all over the ice (both ways), but the refs just let 'em play. |

Not trying to be an bumhole sir. But you need to at least skim through this. TV deal is in place.

Also, I agree with DET, very very well run organization. But some year they will miss the playoffs. What goes up must come down at some point. |

I kind of prefer it that way tbh, as long as the refs let it go both ways. It makes the game more fun to watch when there is constant 5 on 5 flow. We haven't had much luck against Montreal in our last few visits if I'm not mistaken, and Price has been sharp lately. Should be another good game |

yes, I know about the the TV deal with NBC, although most are on the cable NBC, they need a deal where games, not playoffs are shown in prime time, they need to do an ESPN contract again. I love hockey, no other sport like it and if marketed right, should be a lot more popular. Hockey scores and stories on in the back pages of most national publications, and they shouldn't be |

wow did this guy not even write about the chara cheap-shot?
pretty brazen after he roasted scott yesterday.
par for the course I suppose as he's "blogging" on hockeybuzz.
blogs are cool though, very current, very edgy. |

Full of hypocrisy. Just like the Bs organization.
When you go head hunting yourselves, don't be shocked when it comes around and effects your team. |

i don't hate the b's, and patrice bergeron is like one of my faves..
but how bush league can we get here?
are you a journalist ty? or some kid with a real job who likes the bruins?
if you feel like the work you do is legitimate, this "blog" is kind of a joke, given the national conversation occurring re: chara. |

Kinda sound like a 13 year old girl, but I digress...
Anyways, easy to female dog about 1 or 2 blogs, but Ty consistently turns out great and informative blogs that are actually spell checked and make sense. History of Ty's blogs his writing prowess is one of the top n this site. When you have "bloggers" like GARFFFFF on the site, I am pretty sure Ty might be close to a Pulitzer in comparison. |

i don't know how one would find his blogs informative, if he missed the biggest story from the game he was covering.
i'm certain bruins fans enjoy his work, he seems to really like hockey and the bruins.

ESPN is awful though. They will never give it the game the treatment that deserved. Also I could not agree more on your feeling about the game. 100% agree.

they have the best TV contract they've ever had with NBC sports and now have an American NHL Network.
like i said before the owners, Bettman's bosses think he's great.
and in 1980 when stern took over the NBA the NHL had only 21 teams. it was even more of a regional niche sport than it is now. and it still very much is now. |

For most part though that's what the majority of blogging is. If you think he is a homer then fine. I'm sure he's been called worse in the last 2 days. Most of the bloggers on this site are biased.
EDIT: When he was here did you ever read anything Cloutier put up? Or Ek's stage 5 clinger love of the Flyers? |

because of 2 blogs that ruffled your little feathers?
You're not familiar with other work apparently, and I dunno why I am defending here but it's more the premise than anything.
And saying the biggest part of the Sharks game was a hit by Chara, nope, not at all. Very limited talk about that outside of a few Sharks fans, who have been very good about the situation, and BUTT HURT Buffalo fans that are sour over the John Scott fiasco.
Biggest story of the game was the Sharks were outstanding, played brilliant and managed to lose as luck was on the B's side along with absolute amazing goaltending by Rask. That was the story of the game, sir.
