that -4 makes the top line look terrible.... no more excuses... they needs to be better (produce, whatever).... it wasn't just the ov line scoring. |

but he's horrific at pretty much every other facet of the game.
larsens shot is pretty good too. and he's 100x the skater, breakout passer and can start the breakout/rush on his own.
brings way more offensive tools |

Btw that third and Fourth line were good and if they keep playing like that and Gagner/Hall gets back I think Acton should be the one out and possibly Pictlick even know I like Pictlick. |

Just came from the game. This blog is about Yak, so I'll say he still looks completely lost out there.
This game has only strongly reinforced my opinion that this Team will go nowhere or do anything until it changes the mix of assets and gets size up front. Ebs & Nuge got pushed off the puck all night, as did Yak and the other top line forwards. They need some big wingers and a big center wouldn't hurt.
Too bad Galchenyuk was hurt his last year before the draft--he'd have been a first step in obtaining size at centre, with loads of talent. Size on the wings will give the smaller guys more room to operate and be able to dig pucks out of the corners. Fans around me saw the same problem with some lamenting the lack of size. Nuff said.

I don't hate this team. healthy I think we can be there in the race for sure.
joensuu could be a vital piece for us.
maybe I am being too impatient(7 years of no playoffs is hardly impatient tho), and maybe it will come back to haunt us, but I am not against dealing yaks for the right return.
a troller kings fan made a good point earlier today. many teams have traded young sniper wingers to further the rebuild and fill holes. and they ended up much better for it.
either way, nothing is for sure.
I truly think it could be a win win for both parties even if he went on to be a perennial 30 goal guy.
myers and foligno. I think I make that deal |

just for argument sake, lets assume best case;
now think about how much meaner, better blended and well rounded that lineup is with a true power forward like marcus foligno in yaks spot.
not to mention if myers was ever able to round back into form...
flat out better, tougher, bigger team |

Myers has regressed pretty hard. Although he's always been pretty raw, and I think that Calder season made him appear better than he really was. Actually maybe he didn't regress defensively so much as he just didn't improve, and then obviously his scoring totals regressed. I think he's had to help carry Buffalo's blueline too much when he just isn't capable of it yet. He needs to be sheltered more to get his game on track. |
