You don't think McGinn's going to continue to score on 42% of his shots?
- bradleyc4

Unsustainably low, imo

He's avaerage a G/GP so far. I think maybe 95 goals is a conservative total for this year.

That stuff hasnt mattered for 2 years now. Are the rangers on a back to back too? Guaranteed loss for flyers if so

They're coming off a long layoff, too; they played Saturday.

I just read Bill's blog about Dallas and their struggling blue line.
Apparently they have Goligoski practicing as 4th line winger and he expects him to play point on PP. Dallas has the wrong mix on D, but with too many offensive defenseman.

You hear similar things about the Leafs D.

Reading these things makes me wonder if the Flyers could make a hockey trade with one of these teams, one of our defensive defenseman for a guy with better puck skills.

Not a bad thought. Have to get Bill's take on Goligoski. He seemed to go backwards since leaving Pittsburgh.

Dallas would be more likely. Toronto's currently 2nd in the conference, so I don't think they're looking to rock the boat.

The guy who pulled the trigger on the Goligoski for Neal trade from the Dallas side has since been fired.

I wonder if the JVR trade will end up like the Neal trade.

I would be willing to see the Flyers take a chance on Goligoski (as poorly as he's played) if they didn't already have Streit, who has similar on-paper assets and liabilities, on the same blueline.

The veteran D-man on Dallas that I'd have interest in is Trevor Daley. Outstanding skater, reasonably solid puck mover and not terrible in his own end of the ice. The downsides are that he's undersized and not physical whatsoever.

That description of Daley makes him a perfect fit for a scapegoat in this town. They don't like defenseman who aren't physical.

That Gogo for Neal/ niskanen trade was a real beauty.

Will Dallas resign Robidas?
He is older but still has some mileage left in the tires?

Except for the "undersized" part, this almost feels like you just described Matt Carle.

I don't think he has the offensive ability that Carle has.

He doesn't. Superior skater, however. You don't hear him talked about much, but Daley is among the fastest-skating defensemen in the NHL.
