I'm actually curious what he'd look like beside Schultz. Wouldn't be the first Leaf to blossom post trade. That Boston series he blew me away with how he controlled the game.
Even still, I cannot see why the Oilers would move Nail, unless they drafted Nail with the intention of trading him down the line to begin with. Regardless, I would think having Nail would allow them to move Hall to centre permanently. - mykokes
Not sure if you've been keeping up with current events but Hall was the drizzling sh1tz at Center. So...
Worst.

Apparently the issue isn't his production necessarily, or his skill. It's his attitude and reluctance to change his approach to the game. Who knows if it's true though, that's just what everyone is saying. - Jeffmt
He's a passionate kid. Key word 'kid'. He's being asked to do things he isn't accustomed to doing by a coach who could care less about his pedigree. Does he need to show some perserverence ? Yes. Does he have time? Plenty. Was he pissed about his benching? Damn right. Is this kid the real deal? Time will tell but I would put cash on this kid hitting 40+ goals multiple times in his career. |

I'm with you, I think trading him now is giving up on him way too early, especially considering he's far from the only culprit in Edmonton right now. That's an expensive scapegoat. |

I read somewhere before that if Hall, Nuge and Yak were the top 3 in the draft, you pick Yak...he's gonna be that good..nothing against the other 2, both are also gonna be great players during their career ...I think giving up on him this early IS ridiculous, I'm also sure Oilers mgmt. feel the same way..a poster above said it right...that's an expensive scapegoat.. |

I think I take nuge every time. He's a complete player. I have to think you take a guy who scores 25, apples 40 and is a + player over a guy who might score 40 apple 20 and struggle to be a + player. |

Yep. I'm not going to say any if our 1sts are generational talents ( that is a very short list) but I will say they are going to be Superstars and are on a normal trajectory as far as development . |

There is also this guy called Ryan Murphy the canes have who the oilers might have interest in..... Also lol as if the leafs would tell the oilers to (frank) off if the Oilers wanted Gardiner(probably some other stuff to) in a trade for Yakupov, also why the (frank) would the leafs want Yak, the last thing the leafs need is another top 6 winger. Not believable at all. - matt1396
Isn't Carolina weak on the defensive end as well? Wouldn't make sense to trade Ryan Murphy on their part... I wouldn't want to pay to much more than Gardiner to get Yaks. Both players are unproven with high ceiling potential. |

I actually didn't see the experiment, normally I follow the oilers as well, but been kind of busy with renos. Bummer it didn't work, even still, my point was I can't see why you guys would move Nail at 19 years of age. I like the kid, think he's going to do big things. |

Did you write this while you were high or drunk? That is overpaying on Leafs end.
I wouldn't want that deal from a Leafs perspective. - BoBBeR56
Two pieces the Oilers do not need, plus a first for a potential franchise winger... Sign me up. |

Carolina is doing great so far this year. Being in Toronto's conference, I hope they do end up giving up something good for Yakupov. Hopefully this mistake will fuk up Carolina's chemistry & they will free fall out of the playoffs.
Would be a great trade for Toronto

At this point, Yakapoop's stock has fallen. Edmonont wants a treasure chest for Yakapoop but they aint gettin it. The longer they hang onto to him, the less they will get. Obviously the Oil want more than Gardiner. Just glad Nonis doesn't want Yakapoop. - GCHonda
Can't wait til Gardiner goes all Brendan Convery on you. |

Hmmm....Edmonton needs defence and a goalie...what team in the NHL is heavy on defence and has a pretty good goalie in a contract year....I think both Edmonton and Buffalo should be talking right now - Miller doesn't want to be here and Grigorenko could REALLY use another Russian to play with. But Darcy is a waste and won't pull the trigger. He'll wait until its too late to try and move Miller. |

Miller said he is too good for Edmonton, and he included him on his sh1t list. Also, we do not want Miller and you wouldn't get Yak for him in a million years anyway. |
