Oh absolutely, as I should be. Not taking a shot at the team at all, it's just not all that well followed or covered in other parts of the league, so don't be surprised when someone who is a die hard hockey fan doesn't have his finger firmly on the pulse of what's happening with the Canes.
Unlike Edmonton, where other teams fans all seem to know each and every Oiler players exact worth.

I am not surprised, that's why I enlightened you about Faulk....

It would have to be Gardiner + Liles for Yakupov + Edmonton's 2nd... The Leafs would flip Yakupov for another D.

People know the Oilers players, because everybody follows the draft. And Edmonton has been getting the most well-known guy available most years for a while now.

Would also not have traded Antropov for a pre-Brain AIDS Lindros? Or Steen for a pre-Brain AIDS Pronger? Or Kaberle for Kessel, thus allowing you keep Seguin & Hamilton?

Aside from those 3. Everyone seems to know the value if Smid, Petry, Schultz, and that 'softie' Hemsky .

There is also this guy called Ryan Murphy the canes have who the oilers might have interest in..... Also lol as if the leafs would tell the oilers to (frank) off if the Oilers wanted Gardiner(probably some other stuff to) in a trade for Yakupov, also why the (frank) would the leafs want Yak, the last thing the leafs need is another top 6 winger. Not believable at all.
- matt1396

Agreed, the Leafs would jump on a Yakupov-Gardiner deal in a heartbeat.

I female genitalia imagine why they would jump on that. They have elite scoring wingers, it's a center they are really after

Yakupov hasnt proved anything yet and wingers is a position of strength on the Leafs. My gut tells me he won't live up to that first overall selection.

Gardiner can turn out to be special. I'd rather keep him. Just my 2 cents.

I'm actually curious what he'd look like beside Schultz. Wouldn't be the first Leaf to blossom post trade. That Boston series he blew me away with how he controlled the game.

Even still, I cannot see why the Oilers would move Nail, unless they drafted Nail with the intention of trading him down the line to begin with. Regardless, I would think having Nail would allow them to move Hall to centre permanently.

Why the (frank) would we do that???

He played 2 games at Center and was terrible. Since moving back to wing he's back to scoring and pressing the play up the ice instead of coughing up the puck. The Hall to C experiment is over for good I think.

If I were Edmonton I wouldn't do Reimer, gardiner + 1st for yakupov.
- dshiddy

Did you write this while you were high or drunk? That is overpaying on Leafs end.
I wouldn't want that deal from a Leafs perspective.

Am I missing something on Yak? Guy put up respectable numbers in his first year on a pretty bad team; starting off a bit slow here this year, but sophomore slump anyone?

Seriously, not really getting the urgency to dump Yakupov like he's the next Radulov or something.

- gravyface

Apparently the issue isn't his production necessarily, or his skill. It's his attitude and reluctance to change his approach to the game. Who knows if it's true though, that's just what everyone is saying.

The deal must include Sekera. He has sick trade value.

That one's on Garth's highlight reel.
