Anyone in the pipeline defensively at the AHL level?
- powerhouse

The only one who would add any puck moving skill is Alt, at least on the Phantoms. Hagg, though, has real potential as an offensive dman.

I agree 100%. I said the other day this team needs a sports psychologist more then a Coach. I think the biggest problems are mental, not physical.
- MJL

From watching them play, I'd say the biggest problem is the players. As Bill said in this blog, it's not that the players don't have good qualities individually, they just don't necessarily fit together successfully. the bottom line is that Holmgren has built a bad team. If the team's biggest problems are mental, I blame Holmgren for bringing in players that don't have the right mental makeup to win.

Sorry but no one will ever convince me that Laughton would not have been an upgrade over Hall and should be in the NHL.

He's probably better but I'd rather he be in juniors that not developing at all with Rosehill, Newbury, & Rinaldo as line mates.

I suppose, though the way the Flyers are going he'd probably be centering the top line by now

I'd guess consider this them finally not rushing a prospect and doing the right thing for him & the team.

And Laughton just did a toe drag snap wrist shot for another goal.

When I said mental, I was not referring to not having the right mental makeup to win. I was referring to how the team as a whole is lacking confidence, and is pressing. I think that is affecting this team as a whole. I don't personally believe that Holmgren has built a bad team. I believe this team has the personnel to be a playoff team. It needs some pieces if they hope to reach championship level. It also needs it's young players to mature.

It's not been a good Season to this point. But think it's going to turn around. Hopefully it will happen before it's too late to make a run for the playoffs.

Would you prefer him with Rosehill & Rinaldo?

Rosehill is the 13th forward, and shouldn't be playing every game in my opinion. I definitely prefer that Laughon had stayed with the Flyers. And played with any combination of Hall, Rinaldo, Raffle, McGinn. Once the Flyers have a full compliment of players. It's clear to me that Laughton is too good for the League he's playing in. He's dominating younger less mature players.

76ers are in the Wiggens sweepsteaks. the top 3 picks in the 2014 NBA draft are all excellent. They get another 1st round pick if it's outside the top 5. Noel is going to be real good too.
- jstross

They are closer to a championship than any other team in the city. BC who they end up with in the draft will be the best player in the city.

I prefer him with Oshawa then playing on a 4th line or spot 3rd line duty.

How much more losing needs to happen before you consider it a bad team?

It's October 20th. The Flyers have played 8 games. There are 74 games left. The regular Season ends sometime in April, which is more then 5 months from now. Not ready to condemn this team and label them a bad team.

It's just absurd that Laughton can't move up to a higher league to further his development. Is he too young? Could he have started with the Phantoms this season?

No, he is not eligible to play for the Phantoms. He is too young. Just a ridiculous rule. After his Junior Season is over he could come up and play for the Phantoms on an ATO contract. Not positive though.
