Welcome Paul, always liked your style of officiating, looking forward to reading you, but I gotta ask. Kerry's hair - natural, wig or all gel and spray?

Welcome aboard Stewie! You are an awesome addition to this site. I look forward to your "instigator rule" (a rule I oppose) blog as you will offer the important dual perspective - as a former referee and NHL enforcer before that.

Who would PAY for hair like that?! All kidding aside, Kerry (coiffure and all) is a good friend and one of the people who was always helpful to me.

Paul, welcome, and i loved the way you played, and usually the job you did refereeing games (except when you made a call against a Cane...lol). My 1st hockey game was in Binghamton, (Broome Dusters) and I had season tiks the next year and every year after til i moved to Florida (IBM)! Your aggressive hockey style was loved by all my fellow fans. Saw you ref here in Carolina, and really feel you were one of the most consistent/ fair refs i've ever seen!
...and i also agree with the comment about Peel- he needs GLASSES!

Peel is awful. Walsh is awful. There is nobody even close to how awful Chris Lee is.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. i'm not used to that hahaha.

Tuck rule is a dumb one. would handle it but not gladly if it came up. Here's a question I've got: whens the last time you saw a stick measurement in a game?

Spezza and Ovi come to mind. Not sure when though.

Barely a cup of coffee with oilers. we had a pretty good team in Binghamton. Ken Holland (now detroit GM) was our goalie.

Paul, correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe Bloomfield's line had the record for the most points ever by a line at any level of hockey...well over 300, and i think it was before Gretzky ever scored over 100!
This was in the late 70's IIRC!!
