How is Tom Wilson played this year so far? Loved that kid for my home junior team?
- Pete V

He's been pretty good. Positive puck possession numbers, but Oates keeps him on the 4th line and maybe 6-8 minutes a night. I don't know why they don't put him on a top line with two guys like Backstrom and Erat to help shelter him, like San Jose does to their guys.

I honestly can say I don't like Oates. I thought last year we lucked through the 2nd half. We can't rely on our PP if we expect to be a playoff threat.

He looks like a pretty solid guy with some speed there too, he would be a nice complement to a guy like Backstrom.

Personally, I would love it if they sent him back to Plymouth if he is only playing a few minutes a night. I see alot of Milan Lucic in that kid, but he's still real young.

I hate Oates. He keeps Erat on the 4th with like 8-9 minutes a game, even though he is clearly one of our better forwards with and without the puck. I don't get it. Laich sucks.

Yep, that's who he reminds me of. He had some nice goals in pre-season, but again, he's playing limited minutes with a tilt towards defensive zone starts which is stupid. Send him back down if you're not going to play him in the top-6.

He is on the 2nd PP unit.

Eh, I don't hate the trade because we lost Forsberg, I hate it because of Erat's cap hit, which basically caused us to trade Perreault for nothing. I like Erat as a player, but the trade was unnecessary and Erat's cap hit caused obvious troubles this off-season. Which makes why Oates only gives Erat 9 minutes a night weird. He should be on the 2nd line.

As the NBC intermission crew has said, the Rangers kind of going back to what they did in years past. Get the puck in deep, below the goal line, work hard and go to the net. Working well in the second. The PP hasn't scored but has looked very good. As for Richards, this may be the best he has played since becoming a Ranger, period. This is really what I expected when he signed here but haven't seen consistently. Good for him and glad today Slats kept him.

Stepan skating backwards into the neutral zone gets Brouwer skate right through him with a shot to the back of the head
