No Gallagher. He's a mega-Arcobello (better skater). Great player but still not what we need.
Eller instead maybe? |

i like Gallagher's tenacity. bout time the Oil finally got their head out of their -ss and decided to dangle some of this young assets in hopes of receiving some real players. |

The Sabres do not need D. They are set with Risto, Zadorov, Pysyk, Ehrhoff, McBain, Weber, McNabb.
The Oilers need D. That makes little sense. You would be willing to give up more Defense and not on offense that seems to be an organizational strong point.

There is no way in hell that Buffalo gives up their first in 2014; that's the first overall pick we're talking about here. |

The Capitals have had some luck with Grabovski and Yakupov is a big OV fan as well. Don't think for a second that his benching in Washington, on the night he could have first faced-off against AO, wasn't a message being sent directly to his core. Ek
If this is the case its bad coaching. Playing against someone you look up to gives you more motivation. Message received you don't want me. |

We wouldnt trade our first rounder straight up for Yak, we'd rather have Reinhart. Also. No labarbera, we got a great goalie prospect Matt Hackett in the pommer trade thats in the AHL that we will call up when miller is traded.
For Yak, i'd imagine something like:
Miller+2 second rounders+a defenseman prospect like Mcnabb.
Or
Pysyk+2 seconds |

Myers over the past two seasons (including this season): .314ppg -9
Petry over the past two seasons (including this season): 3.2ppg -9
Both have been playing on awful teams so the comparison is fairly close. Here's where Petry sets himself apart, though:
Myers has 150 hits and 132 blocked shots in those 102 games
Petry has 251 hits 226 blocked shots in those 126 games
Still fairly even, but I give the edge to Petry. - MaximumBone
Fair stats, but this is how I look at Myers... He was a lazy fu*k and didnt work out because he thought the lockout would go the entire year. We had to use the little time for his skill development to get him in shape and he sucked the whole year. I havent given up on him yet. |

On paper it sounds neat but Julien would be this kids worst nightmare. All he wants to do score and doesn't care too much for other aspects of the game. He won't work in Boston. - glove_was_stuck
Very late to the party here, but this is exactly why boston will never ever do this. Or its why chiarelli should be fired for doing it. Its just a bad fit regardless of how much offense the bruins need. Its funny, the first few games of the season, the b's had a great offense. Last few its terrible. Julien is the problem just as much as any personnel. Either way, today was game 6, way too soon for chiarelli to make a move like this one. He's fairly good at selling high and buying low, as long as he keeps the boston media quiet beforehand. |

Yak is risky, KHL is always an option. Krieder is worst going to be a good 3rd liner, and del zotto is a top pairing defenseman on most teams. |

Isn't the KHL an option for any hockey player? This assumption is base on what other Russian players have done. It is like saying people can't wait to get out of Buffalo, cause a few have left.
Yak isn't getting traded anyway, unless the return is real good. (2 UFA's no matter how good they play is not fair value) |

I agree, IMO Vanek is useless to the oilers. But i only say that about Yak because he has played in the KHL, and an NHL star just opened the door to go back. The center piece player i assume the oilers would want is Mark Pysyk or Christian Ehrhoff |
