Andrew MacDonald and Trevor Smith were sent to Utah in the ECHL years ago and came back new players
I brought this up on the previous thread, you can include Jason Clark as well. That said, there's a big difference between sending fringe/depth players down for icetime and a skilled player. The ECHL is not a great place to hone offensive skills for the NHL. I have to believe there's more to this than simply getting him more icetime.

3 games in and hes been the only player to be completely invisible. I forget hes even playing at times. No one else deserves to be scratched on offense at this point but him. - mighty13duck

If you were Cappy who would you bench over him? |

the top two lines and fourth line are safe - there won't be anyone sitting from those. So if you look at the third line, I think Clutterbuck coming in for Bouchard could be an option, but because it's Cappy, and because Nelson is a rookie, I think it's going to be Nelson that sits. I don't like that idea, I think it's a poor choice, but I think it'll be the one we see.

I was thinking that if it's not PMB then they might bring Clutterbuck back on the 4th line and McDonald would sit. This gets him some time to get his game legs and gives PMB a little more time to show us something. I don't like that idea but Cappy might. |

It is not about benching someone, it is about helping him learn and integrate into the system, sitting him out is not going to help him. |

I don't remember anyone shtting on Neilsen. Bailey was a common villain on these boards... deservedly so at times. This is the Isles board.. This is where u vent on your team. no?
Regin deserved what he got b/c he flat out stunk the first 2 games. He was clearly the weak link on the team those games. I am still pissed at the missed clear twice on the PK against devs that they ended up scoring as the power play expired... He followed that up with an imediate give away in the second game on his first shift and about 7 more give aways during the game. Then just for fun on the second goal he took out our D-man instead of the forward who ended up knocking the puck in on the doorstep. That clearly cost us a point... He had a great game last night and a great goal, but I would still not be surprised if he sat on Friday. Cal is going to play...
Hickey has played exceptionally well but gets his arse kicked every game. That worries me.. - niteislander
I really didn't think he was that terrible. He just wasn't overly noticeable. I've always been a fan of both Nielsen and Bailey. Spartarti paints with broad strokes fairly often. I love when the collection of homers on here start spouting shat about how they knew all along and the rest of us are a bunch of lemmings. Quite the contrary. |

Someone needs to go with Clutterbuck coming back. PMB is the logical choice 3 games in or not. |

Tough call on who to scratch. It's so early in the season I'm not sure if anyone's really played themselves out of a roster spot just yet. I guess Bouchard makes sense, but they'll probably scratch Nelson just because he's a rookie. |

That would be retarted. Totally plausible with Capuano as our coach. |

I just think you hate AMac with a passion... Which I dont get. If the Isles paid him to be a #1/#2 defensman then I can see why your upset but we pay him nothing and he plays #1/#2 defensman minutes. He does everything Isles coaches ask him too. He is a #4/#5 defenseman playing way out of position and doing a fine job of it. Every d-man has his flaws and AMac has flaws but for what he does for this team Id take him in a heartbeat. |

Why? I can care less what they pay him. How is he a 4 or 5 Dman? I once was saying the same thing you are but do you want your 4 or 5 dman getting outmuscled and turning over the puck more often than not? He has been flat put awful during the first three games. Nobody notices it bcs Capuano and Goring sing the kids praises which is hysterical. Most overrated player on this team. |

This day and age, that can be a bad word to the wrong person, you should remove it from your vocab.. Just a tip, you can tell me to go (frank) myself, it is a word I have seen guys get banned over, just ask a ref. |

I just don't think amac is a good player and brings little to the table...he had four turnovers in the first period...with that beings said i'd still take him over strait, hickey and Carkner. amac is a place holder until the kids are ready....for better or worse |

I think Strait's at least quietly done a nice job of hanging back and allowing Donovan to take some risks. |

That is a very good question. while I disagree PMB has been invisible (he did have a few breakaways and that line was very good in first game.. arguably the best line .. he has not had any points). The question is really who do you sit? If they sit Casey I would be pretty upset.... Brock Mildly upset.. so who is left? Regin or PMB.. no? I am guessing PBR gets to sit. |
