I know what you mean 17. However, I am just frustrated with the Flyers play, and it's only been two games. I would hate to see the whole season end up like the way that they are playing right now. They have no fire, or desire to play 60 minutes. It's like they are a bunch of babies, and they quit when teams actually out works them. I look at the bench during the breaks, and it's so lifeless. There is no passion, just a paycheck at the end of the day. I would give my left &$@# to be able to play at that level, and make that much money. But, they seem to be focused on golf, or something else. But, it's part of the sports nature these days. Make your money, and get out while you can still walk. When does it become a passion to play the game? Have these guys ever worked a real job in their lives? It's almost as painful as watching the Government come to a stand still. Many, just don't get the big picture. Sorry, but I love the Flyers, and I am that passionate about the team. I just hate so see the guys play like they are.
By the way, I have several Cindy dressed as Cindy Brady pics on my web page...

I laughed earlier as someone said that it'd be soccer on ice. Very true.

in bold, acquiring Vinny was a move in completely different direction.
If Schenn broke out as a top 6 scoring player with solid 2 way play last season, do they hand Vinny 5 years?
They change the plan way too much

- puckhead17

Problem I see is we have no pure scorer. Everyone is a playmaker, Crash the net guy or Hartnell who is really not good for anything right now. we need a guy who can put pucks in the net!

Do what Florida did. Get a proven junior guy like DeBoer, or get a guy like Desjardins, although I don't know much about him. New blood and new direction. The good thing about Hexy is that although he's part of the old boys club, he cut his teeth in another org that built the cup winners the right way. Lose for some seasons and build through the draft with a few solid tenders in the mix. This is why I hated losing Bob. I didn't know he'd be a Vezina winner, but keep 3 or 4 guys in the org until one is proven. Quick is the man now, THEN trade the asset to solidify other areas.

I am going to say this: I certainly have enjoyed the consistency this franchise has enjoyed by making the playoffs nearly every year of its existence. And no, I don't want them to lose and lose and lose, to be in the lottery, year after year.

That would be horrible.

But at the same time, because we have been fortunate enough to win plenty of games, we have forgotten what it's like to pick elite offensive talent like Steven Stamkos and Alex Ovechkin and Mario Lemieux.

It's been 13 years since Eric Lindros -- a young, generational talent -- played for the Flyers. THIRTEEN YEARS.

I hate the idea of building through the draft. But teams don't trade anymore. They won't trade elite talent anymore, no matter how much you offer. They simply will not do it.

And we need some elite talent.

at least his team could protect a lead with sub par goal tending he might not have an exciting team to watch but he at least has a formula that can lead to a victory....something we haven't had this year ... or maybe an even strength goal.. that would be nice... not saying he would be a perfect choice but right now a card board cut out is better than watching lavy inept coaching system that is failing horribly

Couter was basically useless last year and looks weak again this year. His rookie year was unreal and hopefully he is not damaged. This falls on coaching, some players can not work with certain coaching styles, ie Ovechkin getting revived by Oates after Boudreau almost ruined him, Grabovski in Toronto now looking world beater with Oates. Hot Lava is a terrible coach once his first year is up, how can your team take 9 dumb penalties and those guys still hit the ice. Lava has no control over this team and needs to go. Lava is a big part of the problem and should take the fall if they lose again today.
- flyerdude17

What do you expect? He barely gets any ice time. Coots should have never been on the roster to begin with. Flyers ruined him by having him play the 4th and 3rd line. How is he to improve when he is not playing?

Flyers were actually closer to a cup recently than they were with Lindros. Look at any other franchise...an elite player is not a guarantee for a cup. Also, we picked 2nd overall and got JVR. No guarantee.

He is on pace for 82 points, I would put him on the top line and send Giroux to the 4th line.

Toews-Kane have won two of the last four Stanley Cups.

Crosby-Malkin have appeared in two of the last five Stanley Cup finals, winning one.

Drew Doughty played nearly 30 minutes a night for the LA Kings when they won their Cup.

So, yeah, you do need elite talent. We keep telling ourselves we don't because we don't have it. But yeah, you do.

Send him and Giroux back to the AHL, they both need work and have been ruined by Laviohomer

Those three were terrible for years and got their elite talent through sucking for many years. Detroit and Boston can win cups without tanking. Every team needs elite talent, but sucking for years is not the only way to get it.

I think Vinny and Schenn have played well. Read too. Anyone else feel like Rinaldo deserves some more ice time?

I dunno Read and Hartnell do not look like they fit on their respective lines. Giroux IMO has looked good but his linemates not so much. Giroux is a playmaker, his strengths are passing and deking. So far majority of his passes have been good, and plenty of times he has split the opposing team by himself but when he passes to hartnell, he sits with it and then tries to pass it to someone else and turns it over, Schenn will either get out muscled or shoot and miss the net. I think Hartnell should definitely be moved to the 3rd line. Voracek should be with Giroux, they had great chemistry last season. Then you got the option, keep Schenn there or swap him with Read

Homer should be fired for having the highest paid slowest defense. I think Lavy wants to be fired
