My problems exist with Laviolette because of his handling of the team, his inability or unwillingness to adjust to better fit his players and his chronic inability to have the team ready at the opening faceoff.

Outside of, incorrectly by the way, saying Murray is a strict defense only coach, why is it that you dislike him?

FWIW, Murray isn't my first choice. I'd much rather Guy Boucher or Willie Desjardins, if they were interested/available.

- Jsaquella

Murray to be just seems like a guy that will teach you things, but wont be a guy to get you where you eventually have to be.

I dont want a coach like that. I cringe at the thought of Paddock or Berube as well.

I'd still toss in Steve Spott as a 3rd choice.

He's definitely in the mix, for me.

That's the strongest argument for Murray, to come in as an interim, then make the choice in the summer, when there are more options and you won;t have to give up a pick to hire a guy from another team's AHL affiliate.

Do for realistically believe that bringing in Murray, they will look to replace him in the summer?

I dont see the organization doing that, but just me.

Why does he need to be the long term guy? I'm not talking about giving him a4 year deal, I'm saying hire him for this year and finding a new coach in the summer. Let him come in and teach, instill the discipline and responsible two way play and then find a new, long term coach in the summer.

He had six credited hits in the first period.
- Jsaquella

And 4 turnovers on one shift that nearly resulted directly in 2 goals. He was equally crappy.

Why not, teams do it all the time. The Flyers did it with Holmgren, he was interim GM all year before getting the job after Colin Campbell almost got hired by Snider.

Murray is 63, I'm not even sure he'd be interested in more than a year or two behind the bench at most.

I will be the first to admit I don't know many of the names being thrown around from outside of the NHL but I definitely rather see them go with someone knew rather than a retread.

by the way how was that Raymond spin-o-rama legal? such crap

Didn't see the Raymond goal.

Honestly, that's why I wanted them to fire Laviolette last season. Loads of good options out there for a new coach. Now, they all have jobs, except for Boucher. That limits the field.
