I disagree, adding a player like Reinhart may not solve all our problems, but it will solve a major problem we have up front. We have a lot of support guys for our future but we lack a "go-to" player. We all thought Grigorenko would be that guy but so far no dice. - Sabresfan-365
That's fair. |

The problem is that they are "Clevelanding" for the wrong draft. Reinhart would be a good pickup for sure, but if you are going to tank for the high draft pick, you had better get a guy you can build a franchise around. From all accounts, McDavid is as closest thing to a sure thing in that regard since Crosby. |

can the buy leino out mid season, if he gets healthy?
he is connolly part 2 at this point - homiedclown
I applaud Darcy for making this type of move but they signed the wrong player. They missed out on the bigger names and Leino was a panic move to appease the fanbase.
Just my opinion. |

This is honestly the most boring Ive seen this team since I started following them in 98.I like the kids like Grieko but its going to be a long slow death kind of season I think.Vaneks wasting away here without a Pomminville type player to play with on his line and Stafford continues to be a non factor.Ive never switched off a game 3 games into a season untill last night in the second period. They might as well trade Vanek for a couple first rounders or a first and second in this years draft and Millers probably going to walk at the end of this season.Id like to see more of Hacket to see if he can replace Miller in the future.Ive seen what Enroth can do and to me hes not a number one goalie. |

We have TB and Columbus this week and if we lose those 2 games it will get ugly. This is a dysfunctional organization at this point. Some fans say tank for Reinhart. There are no guarantees the Sabres will get the #1 pick. And Reinhart will not solve this team's ills and until ownership recognizes the disaster in the front office and keeping losers like Stafford on this team, it's gonna be a huge sh!t sandwich and we're all gonna have to take a bite. - mhp
Ok, you're right, but only if you expect them to be competitive in this league right now. We're paying the price for our mistakes of the past. The Leino's and such. You have to think of this as a College team where all the Sr's graduated and this is an off time with mostly underclassmen. By the time these kids grow up, Stafford and Lamo will be long gone. |

I agree. We should have signed Brunner or Raymond, maybe even Morrow or Graboski. Hell, we had the cap space to get it done. But Regier knits one and pearls two and we suffer with morons like Stafford. Ugh!! - mhp
For a million bucks Raymond would have filled a need based on speed alone.
Funny thing is that Canuck fans had zero respect for his game. He was considered a 'joke' because all he did was trip over his own two feet. |

I don't see it as rolling the dice. I mean, they suck and IMO management KNEW they were going to suck.
If it's going to be like this though I for one have seen enough of Staff, Porter, McMuscle, Scott, McBain, etc. Play the kids. Let them get quality minutes. If they're going to lose I'd like to see what we got coming up. It takes a year off their contract but I want to see what they've got. - Pairo11
Ok rolling the dice isn't the best term for it. But we really are throwing the kids to the wolves. Well really the whole team and fansbase as well. I think they are giving the kids good experience. What other team would put Grigo, Girgo, Risto out there to start a season. I'm assuming Armia and tropp would be in the mix too. Porter and Flynn are in places where over priced average free agents would be. And you know what, Im ok with that. |

Agreed. I hope they give Armia a shot and it'll be nice to see Tropp back up here for entertainment purposes alone. |

I've lived through every season of the Sabres existence and I'm sick of losing. It starts with a new GM and an organizational direction. Until that happens, misery X1000. |

I still disagree. Girgensons goal came off of hard work. That hard work forces the opponent to make a mistake thus allowing the goal. Unfortunately, that line is the only one that's really gotten any type of forecheck going. |

It was a great forecheck by Flynn but the puck happened to bounce off Flynn and landed right in front of the net and Girg's was standing there.
You got to be good to be lucky and vice-versa.
I still think it was lucky. |

Ok, the Darcy thing is horribly depressing. It really makes me worry that the Sabres org. is a bunch of half qualified suits just happy to collect a sweet paycheck(just like the Bills) and all they have to do is keep Terry happy, which doesn't seem to be difficult. Is really hard fotr me to figure out where Terry's head is at. |

You have to create your own luck and that's what he did. Not to mention that 9 times out of 10 here, when that happens we have no guy in front of the net. Go figure Girgensons would actually be there. Driving to the net seems to be a foreign concept for most of the guys on this team. He happens to be the 1 that does it. |

The worst regular season record in Sabres history was the 1971-72 team with a 16-43-19 and 51 points. Is that challenged this year? |

Well, like I said. You got to be good to be lucky. He's good.
It certainly wasn't one of those goals where he came burning down the wing, deked the defenseman and made a great shot over the goalie's glove.
Right place, right time. |
