well i don't think that's going to happen. we know he's going to give the big minutes to the vets regardless of whether or not they're producing. we just have to hope that he finds a combination that works with the other 6 forwards.

I'd swap Brière and Gallagher.

1 game...relax. Some veterans will take 5-10 games to get going at full speed

i don't think anyone has any expectations for DD at centre and Briere on the wing on the same line.

seems to me like you're using Emelin as a crutch here EE. really solid top-4 blueliner but his absence shouldn't mean the difference you're suggesting here (similarly to Clarkson in Toronto... good player but not a difference maker).

the real question is how stubborn will Therrien be if DD and Briere can't create anything against Philly.

- DoubleDown

DD,
I disagree completely. Emelin's importance was magnified last year, when he went down.

As for Clarkson, he's a huge difference maker for their top six. They don't want to be using Kulemin there...

agreed, but with 3 wingers that are small on the top 3 lines, one of them has to play with the midget center.

i don't see too many options without breaking up the Eller line.

Maybe then Eller could get back to his 4 goals per game form he seems to have lost

well then maybe that says more about the team's lack of depth? i dunno. just don't think Emelin should be that much of a difference maker.

If Glassman is hurt and they call up dumont, that would be 5 small top 9 forwards and Plekanec

It was pretty clear that his loss was a lot to overcome for them last year, and it certainly speaks to lack of top-tier dmen, despite defensive depth on the team. We know that's the weakness of the team. Having a record of .500 or better without him is expected--as I've predicted they'll make the playoffs--and a record of .650 is pretty good...

White

They'd probably recall Dumont as 13th forward.
