Yep. I guess maybe they were hopeful that Hall would get claimed?
No less mind-boggling. - bradleyc4
Knowing the flyers, they just found out Laughton actually doesn't have any tryout games left or vice versa and think they can't and sent him back by mistake. Either that or just rosehill's cross check to the face was all they needed to see to make the decision. |

So you were happy that he took a roughing penalty on Fraser that almost eliminated a power play?
Cool. - bradleyc4
Funny thing is, I don't even think Rosehill did anything wrong on that play. He got that penalty for being Jay Rosehill. A cross check to the head was allowed against him because he is Jay Rosehill.
I would like Jay Rosehill to report to the Riley Cote suite at the Wells Fargo Center ASAP. |

ASF made it sound as though another 9 games were allotted in his blog on the flyers official website. Can't remember which post though. - mcefalu
I just hope he goes back to Juniors and tears things up. I don't want him to lose confidence. I think most people were expecting him to make this team after last year's tryout and his strong season. |

Agreed. Just sucks he can't go to the AHL, which is where many feel he belongs at this point. |

I agree that the play on Fraser looked clean, but that's an issue with these guys. They get called for every hit because of their history.
If Colton Orr wasn't even dumber, Rosehill would have eliminated that PP opportunity. |

My guess as to why Hall was waived, Laughton was kept etc. was to maximize LTIR. Capgeek was tweeting about it the other day. Oshawa doesn't play till tonight so maybe they wanted to keep him for a couple extra practises or something silly like that? |

So the move of Laughton give the Flyers nearly 3 million in LTIR left to spend if I'm reading it right. Either a trade or signing of Gagne. |

That could be a reason.
Do you think they knew Hall would go unclaimed? |

I was informed by a person with very good knowledge of the CBA that he had another 9 games this season. - bradleyc4

After the Flyers failed to land Cleary, the plan was put into place with that roster spot...

What is the song? Missed it on the TV as I was too busy virtual high-fiving my nephew after the goal. |

TNT. Which seems like a song you would use between periods in the arena, not when a goal is scored. |

Flyers lose all 82 games because a roster spot on the 4th line isn't set after the first game of the season. What a joke this franchise is. |

Lets just break this down for a second. Laughton had a good camp and first 5 games last year, but he was in full game shape and had been playing in Juniors while most of the NHL guys were just sitting around. So now that all the players are on even footing, he looks a bit more "down to earth". It is possible that if he stayed up last season, we would have quickly seen a drop in production from him as reality set in. |

I would say so. I wouldn't even be surprised if all the GM's had an "understanding" not to claim each others players without asking if they actually wanted them when everyone was trying to get cap compliant |

AC/DC TNT? Odd choice, but better than that infernal doop song. |
