I like Garrison. I watched him a lot playing Florida, and that being said he is annoyingly hot and cold. Good season last year, I just wonder how he follows it up.
And in regards to the Edmonton bottom six...I know thay have been playing around with it a lot but I am a big Boyd Gordon fan, and I believe both Smyth and Hemsky end up down there at some point. Joensuu is a wild card...Acton, Eager, Hamilton...meh whatever. Some real solid vets down there though.
Maybe Edmonton wasn't the best team to include in that list XD But nonetheless, Anaheim, San Jose and LA all have way stronger bottom lines.
And hey good input Nucker! - Jason_Lewis
Thanks. I agree that Garrison offensively is ho and cold, he doesn't rack up a ton of assists like an Aled Edler since he's not as skilled. Basically he relies on poop for his offensive production so he'll always be streaky in that aspect. But definitely he was rock solid basically from day one up until the SJ sweep last season. I was a little sceptical and afraid that he would become Ballard 2.0, and thankfully he was anything but that.
Edmonton should be better this season, the blueline and bottom 6 can't be much worse. Dubnyk is a very underrated goalie IMO and a solid starter, they just need to find some good role players. The top 6 is also very good when healthy. I |

Canucks top line has art Ross winners. Second line has a Selke winner, and a 30 goal scorer. Third line has two 20 goal scorers and a 16 goal scorer. Fourth line has size, grit and speed.
Garrison, Hamhuis, bieksa, Edler are the to four in the defense in that order. Garrison was on pace for 15/ 16 goals with one of the best plus minus for d men in the league. The guy did at both ends with limited power play time.
Canucks will finish top three in the div if not win it outright. - kaptaan

You got that right. And for good reason too. Canucks record against Pacific and central division was better than their own the two seasons they wonithe presidents trophy.
Lewis didn't even know Garrison was the best Canucks d man along with Hamhuis last season.
Do some research next time on the players themselves. I don't believe in negativity when it comes to the Canucks especially when it's unjustified.the team is deep all around and under performed the last two playoffs. That doesn't mean they've lost a step in the regular season. |

Nice write up. It is a little doomsday-ish but that is ok.
I don't think the Canucks are soft though. Particularly with the new coach in town. The players got benched when they retaliated so I think we came off much weaker than we could be. I think we lose 70-80% of the game to San Jose, lose 50% against Anaheim, lose 30% to LA, lose 40% to Phoneix, 20% to Calgary and 50 with Edmonton.
We will be middle of the pack but none of that really matters come playoffs. I could see us trading a young d or a young 3c at the deadline to bring on some goals the it is all down to injuries and our team ability to keep hearing tort's message. ( which I think the team will do for at least 1 playoff year....) |

I'd say Hamhuis was the best Canucks Dman. Garrison was a close 2nd. I'll wait until Garrison can put together back to back complete seasons with the Canucks before doing cartwheels about him. Especially now under Tortorella. |

Hoping... praying... the Canucks are still in the top 2 of the Pacific Division.
I think they are one trade away from saving their near future. - deanofnucks
Also one more bad trade away from really being screwed. |
