I wouldn't trade Hamonic either hes as important to our defense as JT is to our offense |

So I was at the game the other day in my seats again (sucker). A couple of things that I loves/hated.
Donovan.. I have loved this kid for a couple of years (as most on here know I am sure) and am very excited to see him get his shot. That said he was out of position a lot and got beat a few times... couple of very nice passes but over all It showed me he will have some Rookie issues that will drive us nuts. He wasnt' like Hamonic when he came up.. it wasn't seemless that is for sure. I know he scored.. off a deflection I am just telling u what I saw shift by shift.
Brock- for my money he was the best player on the ice not wearing number 91. He even got a shot on top line for a shift. That resulted in a quick goal (not sure if it was intentional or just a mid shift thing but it was impressive to see it).
Viz- Like some of you had said I was very happy to see how he did on PP and in general. I was one of the guys who wanted Streit instead of Viz but understood at the $ and legnth Streit got the choice was viz. Especially at that age and u could not have both at those rates with all these kids coming up.
Nabby - I did not see the 3rd.... but for 2 periods he was nothing short of fantastic. I forgot how much he did last year to get us our first playoff birth in a long time. It made me put the playoff mess behind me pretty quickly.
It was preseason so not going to be too critical but Isles forwards (especially top line) better back check a lot better and D-men better clear the front of net better.
Hickey played well but whenever he got the puck the other team was flying at him to hit him.... I think the Playoff stint has told the NHL to hit him and hit him hard. It will be intriguing to see how he handles it. |

It's ridiculous contracts like this that are going to give JT an incredible pay day |

I get the feeling his contract isn't going to be overly ridiculous salary wise? JT may take a little discount but I have a hard time seeing him take less than 8 million now |

JT will probably get Crosby money by the time hes ready for a raise but he will have earned it. Hopefully by then we have another owner, maybe Wang will partner with the BK guys. As for Hank I hope he ask for 10 million |

Grabner sick today, should be back in time for opener. Hamonic skated well, also on target for opener. #Isles
