I'm doing two fantasy drafts in a few hours. Do you guys have any gem picks you would suggest and why, and/or who are some players you feel will drop this year
Any general fantasy hockey thoughts are welcome, I need an edge on the (frank)ers in these pools - Zezel
Is it a salary based pool?

That should be almost exactly
Pacioretty/Desharnais/Briere
Gionta/Plekanec/Bourque
Gallagher/Eller/Galchenyuk
Parros/Prust/Moen
Subban/Gorges
Markov/Diaz
Bouillon/Tinordi
Price
Bournival and White scratched
95% chance that's the line up Tuesday. - Toball777
That's solid, I can't argue with what Montreal did last year, it's gonna be a war

Yah, but still think it would be another year of youth transition (Especially the 3rd line into second or first line) with Gionta and Markov on last contract year.
Still think they will want to keep Markov for cheap if they can.
Emelin injury is hurting tho.
Will need a strong start. |

True, and those young guys like Galy are just getting started. I was going to say where's Emelin, I like that guy, take him on a team anyday. |

Another Lucic victim, but that was Emelin who was giving the big hit. |

That's a good pick actually, playing with Ovie. Guys that play with the actual superstar picks are always worth looking at. Like Neal on Pittsburgh, he's not actually a PPG player but he could be one because of who he plays with. Neal's gotta be the biggest charity recipient in hockey for points. |

In the 2 pool I did this week, 2 people drafted Beau Bennett thinking that he's gonna play with Neal and Malkin, but if i'm not mistaken, Jussi Jokinen was the one who played with them and I think he got 4 goals in 2 preseason games. |

I think with Rielly, there is a couple questions, is he going to make our team better, more likely to win games. I don't think so personally, I don't think he beat out any of the 6 guys in front of him for a job, he showed flashes of why he will one day, but he didn't look ready in my opinion. So the second question is, will he benefit from more NHL games? The answer is in my opinion, yes, if he get's enough ice time he will. I just don't think we can give him that ice time without making the team liable. I think he'll be on the second PP, which is fine with me, in that roll he makes the team better. But defensively, he's not ready. - MapleLeafsFTW[/quote
Maybe you're right but i disagree. Ranger left him alone many times in game 3 (of his 4). Rielly was the best d on the ice in two of his four games |

@David Nussbaum - I totally agree with your post. Colborne was so mismanaged by the Leafs. He could have easily replaced Bozak. Bozak deserves the knock. He is terrible. Hands of cement. Great guy. Good on TV, in a bromance with Kessel, has speed but not a top 6 forward. I think his contract and position are gravy for the goose (Kessel signing long term).
I do not know if you recall the two playoff games Colborne played in last season when he replaced Bozak who was injured? He was half decent and the Leafs won those 2 games (games 5 and 6).
Burke is so lucky to pick this guy up for nothing. The Leafs took a step back yesterday as a club. I bet you Nonis goes out and signs Dion for a monster contract. - Leafland
Colborne can't skate well. Bozie has good hands he's awesome on penalty shots
