I get that, but the regular season isn't the place for tryouts and experiments. Either Rielly makes this team or he doesn't. The 9 game sample size does nothing for anyone but sets the guy who will eventually replace him back when he is finally able to join the team.

they both got drafted in their first draft year and started the very next season in the NHL

exactly the same.

@David Nussbaum - I totally agree with your post. Colborne was so mismanaged by the Leafs. He could have easily replaced Bozak. Bozak deserves the knock. He is terrible. Hands of cement. Great guy. Good on TV, in a bromance with Kessel, has speed but not a top 6 forward. I think his contract and position are gravy for the goose (Kessel signing long term).

I do not know if you recall the two playoff games Colborne played in last season when he replaced Bozak who was injured? He was half decent and the Leafs won those 2 games (games 5 and 6).

Burke is so lucky to pick this guy up for nothing. The Leafs took a step back yesterday as a club. I bet you Nonis goes out and signs Dion for a monster contract.

perhaps, but he just didn't mesh with Kessel, and we have Kadri as our #2.
18 points in 55 total games with a -20...safe to say he wasn't gonna be our 3rd line center again this year
