Ya I try to stay off there as well at the leafs ones. I have this thery that they actually cause brain cancer.

Have to stop by once in a while tho. Its like slowing down to check out a car wreck.

1) I think Brown is great and I loved it when we got him via trade.

2) Jones just didn't give it like he needed to. That's his problem, not ours.

3)I think Hamilton is doing great for what he brings and his role on the third and fourth lines. He is a big leader as well which our team needed.

4) The flames always suck, it's just extra sucky this year

- ChetManly

Yeah interesting point - perhaps Eakins IS sacrificing Jones a tad to put that undrafted truly anti-prima-donna guy in the room. I doubt he'd do it if he thought Jones, right now, was far and away better.

If Hamilton falters, Jones will be back up in a couple of weeks. In fact, he'll be back up in a few different scenarios.

Everywhere I have looked so far includes close friends. The origin is correct though.

Ok, agreed. The classic definition is favouritism to relatives, but modern usage has extended it to friends.

I knew what you were getting at, just wanted to play stupid, I'm pretty good at that. I'm about a year and a half away from working now, if all goes well.

Don't get me wrong I love the two blogger deal we have going. Like you both, but for the love of god can you guys communicate so that we don't have blogs so close together? Some of us just can't handle two well written blogs within an hour of each other

Some bumhole called me out and said no way Jones plays with Weber. That guy can (frank) right off.

Yeah I hear you, I think he's easily the feel good/ heart winner.

But, to bring it back one of Garner's blog comments today:

...in order for a contender to take away a champion’s belt they have to not only win the fight, but do it decisively enough...

Gustaffson definitely owned more of the fight but Jones landed the bulk of the heavier knocks. Once he landed that second elbow at the end of the 4th round it changed things for sure. If Gustaffson had been on more even ground with Jones after that he wins hands down.

Still though, he was great - even late in the 4th to take that elbow and still stuff Jones' takedowns was incredible.

Jones also proved he can be tested as well.

I call it a draw and I figure you have to beat the champion. I don't follow a lot of UFC but that was the best fight I've ever seen.

As did I. But if you Nike on your ass and Gatorade as sponsors. This is what i expect to happen. Just unfortunate that Gustafson couldnt finish him. Not sure how Jones would react to losing. His plan isnt to fight for a long time. He just wants to make money and move on.

I dont think Jones will stay there. But its possible. Id like to see the Pred's build another good pairing around Jones and move Ellis in a package for some top end talent.

Yep

Jones pisses me off too but pretty tough to award Jones the victory after that last round.

Gustaffson could barely stand.

Amazing fight though.

And to your soft-conspiracy comment, perhaps it has some merit, but there's just as much money to be made in the "rematch of the century"

Ryan Ellis might be the most overrated d-man in the game.
