He did sort of apolagize for that.

Thing is, it definately feels like it's worthless to read anything here anymore. Seems Ek doesn't view canucks fans as important when it comes to supporting us.

- rune_74

Lost all credibility, regardless.

Canuck fans & bloggers have never been considered remotely important to Eklund.

Thanks Marwood same to you, it was Chompsey who got us at each other in the first place. And I got Banned...

So what defines a Troll to you Guys??

I come here to have a laugh, talk some hockey, and make colourful suggestions about you're team.

I see Trolls in other blogs that start with personal crap, pick on other posters, offer nothing about hockey and Bash teams.

Define Troll.....

Just giving you a false sense of security. You ride the fence, playing the passive ?aggressive thing. My definition of a troll is someone who comes in and says they only want to talk hockey and offer some suggestions about your team.

Vintage isn't wrong. The ex-pat population from Ontario in Vancouver is considerable. Taking into account that for a Leafs fan in Van it's the only chance they'll get to watch their team live vs just another home game for Van fans, you'll find many season ticket holders on Craigslist selling their seats for premium $.

Is that difficult to understand?

- AlexF

I get that but to say that is the only reason or main reason isn't necessarily true .... In many cases kids cheer fir the team their parents do and grandparents do etc .... I'm only saying that the leafs and Habs have been around a lot longer then the Canucks .... So it is entirely possible that fans in the west of the leafs have lived here all their lives and simply cheer for them because the rest if their family has done the same dating back to pre Canucks nhl.

Is that difficult to understand ?

I'd buy that 20 even 10 years ago, with the advent of the unbalanced schedule and the lack of seeing the Leafs in town every year, that fandom west of Regina for the Leafs/Habs has dwindled. Not to mention the people that actually go to Canucks games are mostly corporate owners of seasons tickets who use them as gifts to friends and clients they want to impress. Being at a Canuck game is more about being seen and for the status benefit, unless you're up in the nosebleeds you aren't going to find many fans who wear jerseys other than the Canucks even if the Leafs and Habs are in town.

I'd agree with that. I've been to a Leaf-Canuck game at Rogers and didn't see that many Leafs jerseys, at least no more than against Winnipeg or Calgary and certainly not the 50% claim Redmile noted.

I definitely agree it's dwindling ... I just think it's a comparable arguement to your theory ... Truthfully there are so many things that determine visitor teams support .... I lived in Calgary in 2006 and going to Canucks flames games there the dome would have a lot of Canuck fans .... Mostly in the first few rows or fanzone up top ... Talking to a lot of them they had moved to Calgary for either school or to work in the oil fields .... So those are other factors as well

There area few different types if troll. There's the hit and run insult the blogger/fan base type who isn't prepared to defend their position because they are only interested in insulting someone, and they don't really know anything beyond their rage. There is the highly opinionated "I'm always right" troll who will argue all day about a topic even when they know they are wrong (If I were a troll this would be me). And then there is the "Innocent Troll", they guys who start a post with "not trolling here but..." The guys who use backhanded insults or humble boasts. I would put you in this category, you sound like you want to talk hockey, but it often comes off as trollish. If I'm off base then I apologize, but that is how it seems.

I don't think any western team can compare to the leafs or Habs when they come to town vs when we are out east ... Having been around much longer they have a larger following .... When comparing western canadian teams fans in southern states markets it's more of who is the flavour of the month ... Right now the Canucks are coming off a string of good years compared to the flames who have done nothing but piss off fans until recently .... 5-6 tears ago may have been different
- Redmile247

The Canucks get a great turnout in LA. When the canucks are in town I'm guessing half the fans are canuck fans.

I think that more recently the play of the Canucks compared to the leafs might have been a detourant.... Would u put a leafs jersey on and sit in Rogers arena knowing there was a good chance you were going to get smoked lol

No need to apologize Vintage, That's somewhat where I can admit being close too. I think because of the volume or douchbaggry of trolls in the past in your thread, when I wandered in here last Spring, it was assumed that I was an alt account of some old recycled troll. I do want to talk hockey, but I'm the class clown at heart, always have been, so yes some stuff may come off more backhanded than I intend it to be. I will say though, there is no other thread with quicker hatred toward outsiders than this one. I'd like to say I will just go and not come back, but to be honest, Torts is going to make this an interesting season, good or bad.

New Zealanders are cutting their wrists because they choked and lost the America's Cup. One of the biggest come backs in sports history.

Not a big deal to some but to a Kiwi, it's like an atom bomb to the nuts.
