Very doubtful. It also looks like Bailey will be moved to JTS line

Its just interesting that IPB and NHL.com have 3 rookies making the team.

I dont see PMB lasting very long regardless of where he's penciled in.

I saw a tweet on Isles official site that Lee was now skating with the NHL squad.

I wonder if thats true since he wasnt listed with them by Staple the other day.

Its early yet but PMB has been invisible. Moulson and JT looked good though.

I think they'll give PMB every chance possible to succeed on that wing but if he fails, Strome will soon become a fixture on that line.

Strome will be 2nd line center eventually...Garth Snow will wisen up one day and get Tavares a power forward...

I totally agree. The Isles this year will score lots of goals, but can they keep them out of their net.. time will tell.

Thats another reason I see us taking a step backwards this season. Weak on "D"
Weak in Goal.

But I do think it will be an exciting team to watch and an entertaining season. Just no PO's IMO. Unless something is done to strengthen both positions. And soon.

I have to go but I'll fill you in later (email) on my wonderful summer and some life altering changes in store for my family.

My son no longer plays Rugby due to a career ending injury. To bad. He was quite good.

Your "power forwards" are going to be either Anders Lee or Brock Nelson. I don't see Snow trading for a first line power forward or a top four d-man for that matter.

All signs point to the Islanders wanting Strome to be both a center and winger. He played on the wing last year at the Bridge and is slated to do the same with either club this year. I think the ultimate design is for him to be on JT's wing. The Isles are very big on replacing players with similar types. With PA and Boyes they envisioned a playmaker who can score. Strome is precisely that. Nelson is more likely your long term second line center, though not this season.

defensively, we are not worse than last year. In fact, IMO we're better. Hamonic is another year older. The only difference is the exit of Streit who was awful defensively anyway. I'll take Donovan in that regard. I definitely would have liked to add a top 4 guy, but we're no worse than last year and experience alone should have us a bit better.

Defense is the same, goaltending is bad but probably better than last year where we started with DP. Still terrible nonetheless

Still wish we would have put a package together that Buffalo would have found acceptable for Vanek. Having watched both teams for a while, I always thought a Tavares-Vanek combo would be pretty much unstoppable.

I guess we'll never know what Buffalo was asking, but the fact that Vanek's still there leads me to believe they probably wanted a king's ransom. Still, the guy is skilled enough to take over a game, and low-key enough to not have a big ego about it. A bit streaky, sure, but I always thought his slower stretches were due to playing banged up more than he lets on. He takes a lot of sticks and other type of damage being a star player who gladly drives to the net.

Hes a UFA next year. I really wish Garth went hard after a goalie, I still think Schnieder should have and could have been ours if Snow was bit more aggressive .
