He (Kass) was reckless with his stick, I personally don't have an issue with it. The NHL is always inconsistent with this sort of stuff, if this continues througout the year then it's ok. But...if they don't suspend someone for similar incidents, then it becomes a complete joke.

Once again I think decisions are made based on who committed the infraction, who it was against, and what markets are affected by these decisions.

I'm guessing the penalty wouldn't be nearly as long if John Scott got Kassian's stick in the face. Kessel is the star in TO. He'll get his wrist slapped and that's it.

Todd's writing, consistency, and professionalism is leaps and bounds better than Ian's in my opinion. I don't come here for journalistic coverage, but it feels good to have a somewhat professional take of our favorite team on hockeybuzz.

Precedents aren't set in the NHL. They look at each infraction as a separate case, and, no matter what they say, they dont look at the decisions of the past.
