I did, she said a troll came to the door selling amway products, she was impressed with your bow tie and suspenders.

Most had the leafs pegged 10th-12th last year, and they ended up 5th (4th best record in east). I think at worst they are battling for the 6th-8th spots.
Also NJ could be a lottery team this year, I'd be shocked if they make the playoffs.
they were 29th in goals WITH kovalchuk, now they have to replace his production with a bunch of UFA's. That never really worked for Dallas, not gonna work for the devils |

If I remember correctly, Kovi missed allot of time injured.

I really wanna put the isles in there, but I think they missed the boat by not signing a big UFA to really improve the team (they have 15 mil cap space)
Horton/Clarkson/Iginla would have been a nice add to the Tavares/Moulson line |

Kovy missed 11 games. my point is that they have to replace Kovy's and Clarkson's production with a bunch of 2nd-3rd liners in Jagr,Clowe,Ryder and Brunner. Their top 2 centers managed 36 combined points in 90 total games. Schneider/Brodeur are gonna have to win the Jennings for them to make the playoffs.
Btw, your ill informed reply makes you look like a moron. |

When have the devils truly been an offensive team? Devils added much needed depth and have been a better depth team than a 1 line team
pretty sure the devils are good at proving others wrong
but you must see the future |

Including his injuries, Kovalchuk's 82 game pace last year was around 19 goals. Do I think Ryder, Clowe, Brunner and Jagr can more than cancel out his and Clarkson's production? Of course. Unlike last year now we have a top level goalie. Going to be much better than people think. |

They just might. The Devils led the league in shots against per game last year and now actually have a goalie who can make big saves. |

The fact that you put a guy who has never scored 50 points in the same sentence of Kovalchuk shows how little you know and then you call Ryder, Clowe, Jagr, Brunner 2-3rd liners but Clarkson hardly is a 2nd liner more like 3rd. Also funny how it doesn't matter that Kovalchuk was only one pace for 19 goals last season but Clarkson being on pace for 30 does even though he didnt record a point for 30 games ( another thing that doesn't seem to matter). The fact that we allowed the fewest shots per game and where a very strong puck possession team doesn't matter. The fact that a 40 year old back up had to play 11 straight games doesn't seem to matter to you and NOT ONE OF YOU have even given any consideration to the fact that Henrique and Larrson both have a lot better years on top of all the guys we have brought it. You are kidding yourself if you think we are a lottery team. We are very much a bubble team and will be fighting for a spot in the last few days but we won't be a lottery team. |

I wouldn't be surprised if we were a 100 point team. The addition of Brunner is an interesting one. While I wouldn't have advocated it at a high price, it would seem that they should be able to sign him at a modest price tag given the fact that he is currently on a tryout. The top 6 wings don't have any superstars, but Elias-Jagr-Ryder-Clowe-Zubrus-Brunner is an impressive group of wings in terms of depth. We have the best 4th line in hockey. Our team D is among the league's best and now we have a top echelon goalie. Toss in that Zajac-Henrique and Josefson (if he beats out Loktionov) are probably fourth in the league from a defensive standpoint at the Center position (behind Chicago, Boston and Detroit) and this is a very good team. Strong likelihood of leading the league in goals against. To finish as a 100 point team all we would have to do is be about 20th or 21st in the league in goals. I think with the additions that is very realistic.

You guys are definitely one of the deepest teams in the league, just cause of the sheer bulk number of UFAs you signed, but I think 100 points is a stretch. Until Schneieder proves himself an elite tendy over a full season, you guys don't have an elite player at any position. I don't think strong depth is always gonna make up for that when you're playing teams that have strong depth like you have, as well as elite players. Sure, the Isles are an example of a team that has good depth and an elite forward, but their goaltending is such a question mark, their defense so mediocre, and their transition game so damaged thanks to the loss of Streit, that it doesn't surprise me that you could shut them down. |

I don't understand why Schneider would have to prove himself at this point. He's an elite talent with elite #'s whenever he has played over the last three seasons. Is playing 50 or 55 games going to somehow change that? Not to mention he is in a system very well suited to his ability in that he is a big goalie who doesn't yield many bad rebounds. Let him see the first shot, and keep most of them outside and you're fine. The Devils also outshot opponents by an average of about 5 a game last year. I don't see much reason for that markedly changing either. |

I put Kovalchuk and Clarkson in the same sentence, because they were both top offensive players on the devils, not because I was comparing their abilities. How many 3rd liners have potted 45 goals the last year and a half? probably none. Clarkson is a 2nd liner, if you think otherwise it's sour grapes |
