we get that with Baertschi and he hasn't played a full season... - geta02it
Hall too, one of his injuries was a fluke skate on his face....but I guess a resiliant player wouldn't have been cut. |
|
|
|
His first season he took 135 shots in 60ish games. Lets say he plays that many again. And lets say that he only shoots his avg of 10%(he shot a 13% in year one and 5% last year). This leads me to believe that he will score about 13 goals.
Thus your best bet is to take the over. - OilHorse
13 goals is standard... for a 6 mil/year player. |

Way too lazy to post the entire list but the oilers are 11th in the league for paying their top 3 guys. San jose, Washington, carolina, minnie. All above them. - freelancer
where are they on the list agewise. |

reposting something i posted in the rangers thread, as i think it's applicable:
richards, on paper, had a good season last year even though he was actually awful if you watched him play. RNH, on paper, had a bad season last year, even though he was actually really, really good if you watched him play, when he was healthy. what i'm saying is that stats don't show the whole story.
this contract will be a BARGAIN 2 years in. we're bashing this deal but so many people here are willing to hand out stepan a deal for the same length and $1 million cheaper while RNH is most likely going to be a much better player than stepan when he's stepan's age.
i'm not saying that stepan is that much worse than RNH, but RNH is a 1st overall talent ala crosby, malkin, toews, etc. and while yes, he struggled with injuries so far, and yes, he took a step back stat-wise last year (even though his defense improved astronomically and he just looked like a better player than he did his rookie year), he WILL turn into a top 10 player in the league sooner rather than later.
RNH, in my opinion, is going to turn out to be the best oilers forward out of him, hall, yakupov, and eberle. and that's saying A LOT considering how unreal hall has become recently. |

i'm guessing you're the kinda guy who wouldn't want patrice bergeron's contract and his measly ~20 goals on your team? |

no kidding, the Oilers players have proven they can play fire wagon hockey and be the worst team in the NHL by a country mile in the last 3 seasons. It must be pre-season the Oilers hype is out of control again.
I think what "you don't get" is that all those players are getting rewarded for constant losing - flashfire
The oilers were better than the flames last year. And didnt finish last the year before that either.
If you're gonna troll, ar least attempt to say something based in reality. Or try actually watching hockey |

They didnt offer the term. Which is the worst part of the contract.

Why do NYI fans keep coming into every teams threads to remind people how much they signed JT for?
They are like the outsider nerd who keeps lingering around people and interrupting their conversations with comments no one cares about. - yaktalksback

True.
A couple of my favs were none of the kids deserve that money cause they haven won a cup yet.
And tavares had a way better first 2 years than hall and rnh even though their ppg are all virtually identical at .75ppg
Hall's is actually better after 3.
Another guy kept laughing that rnh will be making 6 mil this year. He wont be till next year.
And the other dude kept harping that the oilers offered more money to clarkson.
But neglected to mention they didnt offer the term. Which is what makes that contract so bad.
They're good for a chuckle anyways |

Why did you guys let that guy go? solid bottom 6 player. - FiretheGM
We gave him a lot of time but honestly he looked good last year. I was kind of shocked we didn't sign him to a low end contract. He didn't score but he started doing all the little things he never did before. Years past he was soft, gave up on plays and just couldn't put it together. Guy seemed to come to camp always out of shape. Had a nice pair of tits though. |

Either JT didn't believe in himself, or his agent didn't.
Also, .75 PPG..when he signed that contract his first two years. RNH.. .75. - Blackstrom2
Do you actually believe this? If you knew anything about him you wouldn't even waste your time creating this post. |

Tavares is a beast. But I don't see why Hall or RNH suddenly don't have the ability to become what Tavares is, and maybe more.
It's not like he was Stamkos or MacKinnon coming up.
f MacKinnon, I meant McDavid. - Blackstrom2
He broke all of the scoring records in junior coming up including Gretzky's . Youngest player to be allowed in the OHL. Are you kidding me? You realy don't know what you're talking about. |
