Richard Sherman is rad. I met him at the Bimini. He likes Vancouver and visits often. Follows the Canucks as well.

Ian should have written a quick blog about the football game game.

If he did I might have actually read it.

love the guy. But the Nucks visit was nothing but trying to get attention (which he loves) of the public.

I highly doubt he gives two shyts about the Canucks.

also, As I was writing this, Lynch got another touchdown.

My pool is delighted.

Did we trade Lu for Price today?

On a serious note I thnk MAF was pulled after letting in 2 goals on 12 shots.

He comes on his own to hang out. The Seahawks obviously do a decent amount of promotions here and he comes for that, but he does come on his own time.

Honestly, under Torts this year will be a huge success or and unmitigated disaster.

From what I've heard coming out of training camp, This year is going to be very interesting. But im not kidding When I say, I think the Canucks could be contenders this year.

Finally a coach who will give young guns a chance.

Cant help but think what would have happened last season if AV would have kept MayRay Schroeder and Hansen together.

Would we have won the cup? Fukk no. But I cant help but think the team wouldnt have been swept.

They were a fantastic line, And AV for whatever reason broke them up because hes a fukking moron.

You could be right. The expectations may be a little lower for this team and it may be just what they need. They still have talent.

Personally, I think Luongo is gonna be terrible and that'll be the death knell in the end.

Of all the players to bet against, Lu is the last one I'd pick. He's never had a terrible season. Average is about as bad as he gets.

Yeah, I totally agree. Some of AV's moves were extremely headscratching, especially during the slumps of average hockey this team played. He and Bowness seemed to fold under the pressure of the playoffs more than anyone on the team with all of their line juggling and lack of proper adjustments. I know AV gets praised for his zone star usage, but I bet that Gillis had a lot to do with that more than anything and I bet he'll get Torts to do some of the same.

I remember when MG was first hired and he had had a few meeting before AV before he chose to retain him as HC, I'm guessing MG wanted him to use zone start usage and play a more offensve system or he would have been gone. Outside of the zone start usage, nothing else about AV impressed me and if that really as MG's idea more than AV's then I really think it was the right move to replace him.

I agree. I think he'll be solid(won't be in the Vezina discussion, but he'll be one of the better starting goalies in the league as usual). I also think that having a mentally stronger coach like Torts will do wonders for him(and the team) during big pressure games. Most fans are more worried about secondary scoring and the 3LC position. I think the majority are happy with the d-men and Luongo as a goalie. If one or two of the young guys(Kassian, Jensen, Horvat, Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Corrado) really step up and have good seasons then this team looks solid.

But average in Vancouver will send the media into a headspin. Seriously, Our market is so ridiculous I dont blame Lou for not wanting to be here.

Although After 8 goals I think Torts has the balls to actually pull the goalie.

I know Torts is going to change his persona a bit now that he's in Vancouver, But will AV in NY? Not sure. Their farm system could be in jeopardy.
