I absolutely love the fact that Leafs fans now think that the number of games you lose in actually matters for anything! What a joke!

What? You're telling me that fans who've seen 7 games in 7 years don't know about the playoffs?

Torts added that when you've got a Sedin blocking shots, that impact will be felt by the entire team and that everyone will be feeling ten feet tall.

Your best players putting their bodies on the line blocking shots, the vast majority of which a decent goalie would save if it got through.

Oh, but they played 7 playoff games last year, so clearly they're the best team to not make it to the second round.

Hearing UFA ex-Wing Damien Brunner may be talking to Dallas (Jim Nill knows him) and New Jersey, possibly also Vancouver.

- VANTEL

I like Brunner, think he has mad skills, and he was able to produce from every line he played including in the playoffs without being given much PP time.

Brunner on the Sedin or Kesler line is an upgrade over Kassian, Schroeder, or (insert player here) that we've been discussing all summer. He's not the JT shot-blocking type, but then again if that's the style of play we'll be seeing in Van we're done for already IMO.

If we can nab Brunner for the remainder of the cap space (about $2.2m) on a 1-2 year deal I'd consider it a good signing.

#canucks asked to run 2 miles in 12 mins or less. 3 were able to do it. Daniel, Henrik and Santorelli. Santorelli edged out twins by 2secs.

Chicago won the cup, lost round 1 in 7, lost round 1 in 6, then won the cup again

Vancouver lost in the SCF, bounced in 5, then bounced in 4..year 4 same core minus their better goalie..getting to rd 2 would be a challenge

The twins are amazing. It's a shame they don't get the respect they deserve.

Apparently Santorelli's been working out like crazy this summer. Maybe it's been paying off.

Apparently in the last few years only Samuelson and Erhoff were fitter, or at least on the same level. Interesting that the Europeans place such heavy emphasis on fitness, stamina, and speed. For the Sedins it's probably a key reason they almost never get injured.

Clearly. We have 2 C roles up for grabs. He knows it's now or never for his career. If his on-ice work is as diligent as his off-ice regime he might stand a good chance at securing a roster spot.

That's a little sad if you ask me. They're pro hockey players. They should all be able to run at a 6 minute mile pace.

Pros: fast skater, great wrist shot, nice guy.

Cons: terrible balance, soft along the boards, perimeter player, streaky, has sustained a serious back injury a few seasons ago.

Does he only play C? I would love to get Weise off the ice.

Skates in circles repeatedly. So fast he out skates the puck on his stick on most rushes. So fast he could probably reverse the earth's rotation if properly motivated.

No idea. Yahoo has him listed as a straight C @6'0'' 189 lbs. He's 27 and clearly has a strong work ethic. I really don't know too much more about him to be honest but Richardson can also play wing so it's possible we could roll a 4th line of:

Sestito-Santorelli-Richardson

I'd be surprised if Santorelli is good enough out of camp to be our 3rd line C.

Sorry man .Fans have got to stop living in the past . It was 3 years ago the STC. More recent 2 first round exits. Let's fix that and not keep reliving 1994 and 2011
- VANTEL

He should be able to play wing. I think they were somewhat following the Sharks mold when they added him and Richardson. Much easier for centers to shift over to the wing than wingers to shift to center.

I've got him pencilled in on the 4th line wing (Richardson at center) with one of Sestito or Weise in the press box. I like them both, but not a big fan of them both at the same time.
