This would be good for Vancouver to get them wrapped up for the rest of their careers. I'd give them both 8 years at 6M each. This gives them both more than enough money to live on and allows Vancouver flexibility to add free agents over the course of their contracts. The twins have been nothing but class acts and will be able to maintain high point totals until their late 30's.
Good for them and good for Vancouver to get this done now. Next is to fix the D.... - riceroni

well played sir - Bieksa#3
I kid, I kid.
There window is closing though, would be a shame to see two talented players like the Sedins come so close but fall just short. |

They're not typical top line players though because they insist on signing as a pair. If they want fair value they should be willing to sign with separate teams like any other player. If they're going to continue to insist on this weird/creepy twin thing then they should be willing to give Vancouver a huge discount to keep them around. Considering that their best days are nearly behind them, they should be expecting $6M or less from the Canucks. They could threaten to test the market but how many teams are looking for 2/3 of a first line? - Jeffmt
I have no idea how to brothers wanting to play on the same team can be considered creepy. Thanks for the clever insight skippy |

Yeah, it may or may not happen. Lots of good players who have or will retire without a cup. Hawardchuck, Iginla etc |

This is a good thing for the Canucks, it'll stop a full rebuild from happening and set in a slight re-tool instead.
Two fantastic people and hockey players that should remain life long Canucks! |

I could see them signing a two year extension, meaning they'll have three years of playing time left in Vancouver. That'll put them to 35, that would be enough IMO.
Henrik could get to that 1000 point mark. |

I'm thinking like earlier mentioned, 5 yrs at around 5.5 per. I believe variance is 20%. So front load it as much as possible
1000 pts with one team in "the dead puck era" is amazing imo |

Five years? 33-34-35-36-37 yrs old, that's too old isn't it? They don't have Daniel Alfredsson type wheels. |

The Sedins are a bunch of jokers. The Canucks and Sedins are a match made in heaven. Both sides are completely over rated!! go ABC (anybody but canucks)
 - Myron1982
Usually the fans who trash talk can have a little bit of leverage based on the fact that their team has recently won a cup. (See the Kings, Bruins or Hawks.) Or at the very least, from team who's made the playoffs. It's not often that you get trash talk from a fan who's team is a perennial basement dweller.
Anyway, nice attempt. I'd give it another shot in a few years when the Jets may have a better shot at making the playoffs.

What I'm saying is if you front load it as much as possible allowing the twins to retire after 3 yrs or so it allows a smaller cap hit.
I'm not convinced the twins have to worry about the father time factor like most players. They aren't fast, they are big rough and tough. They don't play Mega minutes. There game relys on supiorior hockey sense and sound positioning. |

Boston should be one of the final two in the East, but as you know, hockey isn't played on paper. |

He is a solid writer for sure. I wasnt questioning his ability as a writer. Just that he seemed to of been moving around a bit. Why did Eklund as him to move from the Flames to the Nucks? - poisondhearts37
