For the fans in Penticton, I hope they enjoy the tournament. I think the Oilers have by far the thickest, deepest defence, but little else. I hope Klefbom really stands out as a man amongst boys. With all the hype Clouts gave him he would kinda have to.

Oh, we'll still have our own little sh!t-show going on here. A new, very volatile coach and a prima donna goaltender with hurt feelings. The entertainment will be non stop.

I'm in the camp that believes Klefbom should start the season in the AHL anyway. In the long run, it's better for development. Oilers have 13 bottom pairing D men signed for this season anyway.

I wish we could get video of this tourney. Next year I am going to make the young stars tournament for sure. Though I have a feeling a lot of showcasing and skill will be seen at this one.

It went the whole spectrum . Sign them for 10 mil each per year for 5 years to trade them at TDL .

If they trade them the Canucks won't be able to re-tool on the fly. I think it's too risky unless they want a full rebuild.

Not to them.

EDM's got great defence (Klefbom, Nurse, Marincin, Davidson). But a sh*t goalie (Bunz) and no scoring up front.

For the most part, I agree, but to say we have NO scoring up front is unfair. First off, we've got a 24 year old Andrew Miller who likely will bring comparable offense to what Arcobello can bring. Secondly, Marco Roy and Kyle Platzer both possess fairly slick offensive games. Finally, the team has a bunch of bigger, defensively responsible guys that can also put up some reasonable offensive totals (Moroz, Fyten, Houck, Khaira, and Chase). It's nothing like having a 1st overall pick in the line-up, but we're far from doomed in this tourney.

Crossing my fingers for Bunz to have a bounce back year. God knows we need at leaast one goalie prospect of quality in our system...

Calgary and Edmonton on the ice now at the SOEC in Penticton practicing. Both teams are full of energy and doing up tempo scrimmages.

Yeah, if you're going to bring a kid up early you need to ensure he's going to get enough ice time still and ensure that he has enough veteran leaders to learn from. Especially with a D-man, if there's question about their readiness, good idea to not rush them.

Exactly. No way he gets top 4 minutes this year and with all the bottom pairing depth players we have he is way better off trying to be the man in OKC.

I'm not sure anyone cares about wins and losses. It's about individual performance like you said. Competitiveness and will to win should be showcased by the individual for sure, but winning this tourney is meaningless.
