Homer's answers from the STH Town Hall.

- bodiva88

Same old.

Personally I would like to know if Homer is talking to Matt Read and Brayden Schenn about extentions. I think I also would ask if there has been any activity as far as getting under the cap goes as of late.

This isn't so much a question but a statement. I feel this is the season Brayden Schenn becomes a major contributor on this team.

Thanks Bo.

Imagining Homer crying hurts my head when I try to picture it. It's like trying to think about how big the universe is... it's just too far out there

All they have to do is send Rosehill, Gervais & Bourdon down to the AHL, then put Pronger on LTIR after the first day of the season and they'll have plenty of room to add Gagne or whatever other moves, by using the LTIR exemption, which includes recalling Rosehill and one of the other two.

If they put Pronger on LTIR before the season starts they lose a good chunk of his LTIR relief. But after the first day of the season, they can get the full $4.91mm. And the risk of losing any of those three is probably remote, and all three can be replaced rather easily.

They will have to send one or both of Gervais to the AHL anyhow, at least until they can trade one of the other defensemen, just because of sheer numbers.

But once the season starts, are you still gonna have a reason to keep making Top 10 lists?
- Trainfellow

of course. top 10 reasons for why the flyers will win the cup, top reasons why we can't wait for the season to end, top 10 reasons why lava should get fired, top 10 reasons we should have signed simon gagne, top 10 reasons why laughton should still be in juniors, top 10 reasons why hartnell still can't stay on his skates, top 10 reasons why we wish we still had bob, top 10 reasons why the new alignment and playoff structure is (frank)ing stupid...you get the idea. it's endless.

I was at the Emery shut out in Calgary. He was sharp when needed. My hopes were high heading back to Edmonton where Leighton shut out the Oilers for 59:44, then stupid Potulny scored with 0:16 left in the game for a 1-0 Oilers win. It was nice to see 119:44 mins of Flyers shut out hockey, but only 2 points to show for it.

Back to Earth, another great write Bill. Many only see the Emery who was a burden in Ottawa or the Emery who fought with the KHL trainer over the hat. I think having two capable goalies with lots to prove on short deals may really surprise many this year.

i wish i could find the posts here from that night, but we were all calling for a potulny goal and a 1-0 win. it was both hysterical and infuriating when it happened, especially the way it happened. good times.

Correct. I should have added the part where he discussed this. He said that Pronger would be on opening day roster, then LTIR after that.

There is no one on this forum as stupid as that kid. And the question was asked and answered on Laughton's status here with accuracy and not a lot of confusion. So I didn't go into the whole clockiness.

Definitely a part 3 with Lava and probably a part 4 with Hexy and Chris Pryor (I admit to spending a lot of time in the Pryor session not paying attention, because he started with that draft video, which bored me when I saw it the first time).

I can only imagine what that experience was like.
