Yeah, that was a pretty gay finishing move looking back. As a kid I effing loved it though.

Its a good thing we let Rajala go. Now our offensive prospects consist of... OH RIGHT we have none now. Yes the kid was small but now we have Acrobella as the only guy in the system who is just as small and did nothing for the team when called up. Rajala at least had a slightly better chance. I think it is a really good thing that we traded our high picks to get 9 later picks and a dman that is years away from playing. I think this is going to be stellar for the team. Maybe we can get Daigle, Falloon, Michel Riesen, Michael Henrich, Jani Rita, Alexei Mikhnov, Marc-Antoine Pouliot, Rob Schremp, Matthieu Descoteaux, Steve Kelly and Jason Bonsignore. If we are giving Greb, Eager, Smyth and Jones another shot after how terrible they have played why not get these first round gems another chance. I think Falloon is even playing in a beer league in Stoney Plain so he might be easy to get a hold of.

To be fair he played all of one NHL game and was in over his head.
Not saying I think he has much of a chance to make the NHL, but judging him on 1 game is a bit premature.

We're past picking players for immediate help. If mact thinks nurse projects to be the best player long term, even 5 years, he absolutely did the right thing.
That comment is 3 years behind where we are in our rebuild.

We also dont know the extenuating circumstances in relation to rajala. The kid wanted out and rather than force him into a spot where he was virtually stuck, he let the kid have a chance elsewhere. Not completely ideal for the oilers, but possibly mutually beneficial in the long run.

Mact has done an admirable job thus far and we should be waiting to pass judgement on his tenure for a year or two.
