Who's closer to winning another cup, Leafs or Devils? I think we all know the answer to that. - PotvinFan
What else does your crystal ball tell you? Your question is meaningless. Either you win the cup or you don't. The Sharks have been "closer" to the cup than most other teams and it got them poop. That said, considering the leafs have a lot of money locked up in mediocre players I pick neither. |

You've lost Kovy, Parise, and Clarkson with nothing returned and you've still got faith in Lou? - PotvinFan
Oh no we lost clarkson because he demanded 1.5 million more than he's worth. How are we ever going to replace him. |

In 2012 the Devils could have carried on had the ref called a blown hit from behind given to gionta but play ensued and Bernier destroyed Scuderi from behind and got a 5 minute major and game misconduct and the Kings go on to score 3 goals on the 5 minute pp stuff happens - blizzzard
Lol my sentiments exactly, but Devils fans don't always bring it up! They don't live in the past |

My biggest worry for the Devils right now is Henrique. Yes they did lose Kovalchuk, Clarkson, Tallinder, Ponikarovsky, D'Agostini etc. but if they lose Henrique (i.e. they are forced to trade him) they are toast this season. Thankfully they went out and got Schneider (because we all know this will be Brodeur's last year) and they did add some offense in Clowe, Ryder, and Jagr (although all three are now on the downturn of their careers) but I'm really hoping Olesz can step up. He had so much promise when Florida drafted him. Maybe he can bust out and have a great year offensively and help soften the blow of losing everything that New Jersey did. As it stands right now, in their division I don't see them as a playoff team. |

Stanley Cups:
Toronto Maple Leafs: 13
New Jersey Devils: 3
And the devils defence is still poopty, comparing it to Toronto isn't really a benchmark. - PotvinFan
13 Cups - pretty impressive for only 6 teams (sarcasm). How many were won when the league was a "True League"? (i.e., more than 6 teams) |

That explains why he did so bad with Vancouver's crappy d. Oh wait. - willschulme
I think that Cory will excel in new jersey's system. |
