The chemistry is critical when the players have so little time to develop it. St Louis definitely should be on the team.

Yes. Shortness of the tournament places a huge emphasis on proven chemistry. IMO one of the big reasons Canada had success in 2010.

It's simple, I would vote for him to become the captain of team canada for the next olympics

I would still put St-Louis Captain prior of Crosby. He has the maturity and experience that Crosby still doesn't have
- koarik91

im a huge stlouis fan. But I'm not sure of the Capt thing. There are players on the team with more olympic experience then him (toews and crosby should have the C I think)

That could indicate that Jbo/Pieterangelo might be a good Defensive pair. Jbo on a larger ice surface seems to suit him more.

Add a line of fast forwards with that and larger US D are going to have to be on their toes.

I suppose if they play a lot together to start this next season, but I don't know that they have the level of familiarity that Stamkos/St. Louis have or Keith/Seabrook.

I think Team Canada should look at the best duos in NHL play that may have chemistry already or from the past because of the shortened tournament, like Toews/Sharp with maybe Crosby, Bergeron/Marchant/Lucic, St Louis/Stamkos with maybe Couture, Richards/Carter/Giroux, etc

Heart and Soul of the Bolts.

He deserves a spot because of the combo of experience, leadership and ability. He's the triple-threat with the national team check list.

He'll be in Sochi.

They are too young. You will need old blood to lead a young group. Crosby, even tho excellent, is not the ideal captain. Heck, even sometimes with the emotions and behavior that he has on ice. I wouldn't even put him Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins

Time for the "After Midnight" props:

I know our humble little team in TBL may not get much love, but for the hockey fan out there (and I mean the die-hard) what an interesting organization this has become.

And, aside, MS has become an incredible ambassador for this franchise on HB.

Aside from writing for my team, he has absolutely captivated me with his analysis and thoughts on my Bolts.

Props for Mr. Stuart. You are doing one hell of a job.

I'm taking sleeping pills in an attempt to be in bed by ten every night. As you can tell, they're working wonderfully!

Very kind words that I appreciate more than you know. As a fan of the team, I can't express how much fun this gig has been for me. As long as Eklund is alright with me sticking around, I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. You folks are awesome.

I would much rather have St. Louis on the team than Joe Thornton any day.

The guy is a winner and a warrior.

I like Joe, and think he is a good player, but I agree. St. Louis hasn't lost a single step in his game, whereas I think Joe has with his foot-speed. My ideal line for Canada would be:

Stamkos-Giroux-St. Louis

He should be a lock imo. Woul bed deadly on the big ice, lead the league in points last year, is a great leader (on a probably young team) and has a natural chemistry with stamkos.

Would love to see a top line of
Stamkos - Crosby - St. Louis

I would like to see that pairing as well. Probably as the third pairing.

Honestly, I would take both of them. I think the Keith-Seabrook "era" might be over for Canada. I think J-Bo is better defensively than both, and Pietro is the best player out of the 4 of them.

I think particularly for the international ice surface St. Louis is the better choice. Thornton was less than ordinary in Vancouver.
