So was it a dumb move by the Blackhawks to sign Toews and Kane because they will be a ufa in their prime, so will Eberle and hall and tons of players. Just like how perry and getzlaf signed extensions before they became a ufa. Look at the ufa list for this year and I bet almost all of the stars will be signed before July 1st

It's called a bridge contract. What MTL did with Subban and Buffalo should have done with Myers. Avs are a cheap franchise. They made a money saving move. They didn't want to pay him more in 2 years when he still would have been a restricted free agent. Now you can lose him for nothing at 27. Another cheap move by a cheap franchise

I'm not the one who said Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook were declining, so I wouldn't be too quick to throw the stupid card around. My point is that yes they have him at a good cap hit, but they also could have ensured him staying in COL til at least 30 if they did a bridge deal. I guess it doesn't really matter he's locked up for a while anyways

Tavares contract was in the old CBA and hardly considered a steal at the time. Contracts just seem to be getting stupider and more senseless but this one takes the cake.

Yep that's right I will literally sit here in my seat waiting for it to happen, I won't move or eat or drink until he sucks, it's called, "tongue in cheek", suck it up princess, Sabres fans do every day.

I just can't wait to see the reaction from Colorado fans and media et al, if he starts to suck it up big time on that contract, it has been known to happen in the past. It is a gamble.
