I think Pirri, Smith and Morin and LeBlanc are NHL ready (or closest to NHL ready). Danault, Teravainen, Raanta, and Clendening are a year away (at the earliest).
Johns and McNeill are two + years away
These are ready, for the Blackhawks, not New Jersey, Buffalo, or Calgary ready - BearsnHawks
Morin is the guy I am interested in watching. Pirri is getting hyped for the 2C role and Smith is being talked about as Frolik's replacement. But I think Morin could have a decent impact on the team if he makes the club. |

If Pirri can backcheck and get back to help out on defense I think he could eventually be a top 6 guy. I have always liked what I have seen from Smith and think he could do multiple different roles, he just is injury prone. Morin has some scoring touch, plays back on D but doesn't have that high end speed. He is still young and I like him much more than Hayes. |

Don't get me wrong, I am excited to see what Pirri and Smith can do too, there will be some real good opportunities for them. Pirri taking the 2C role would be the easiest and best thing for the club. |

I still think Pirri's future is at wing. I do like the idea of Saad playing the 2c as long as Sharpe takes the draws. I think the future 2c will be Danault or Teravainen |

Saw NHL.com ranked Chicago's top 10 prospects:
1. Pirri
2. Smith
3. Morin
4. Clendening
5. LeBlanc
6. Johns
7. Teravainen
8. Raanta
9. Danault
10. McNeill
Thoughts? - BearsnHawks
Here is the order I think you have to approach getting to the NHL ...by chances.
Pirri
Smith
Jimmy Hayes
MorinĀ
Beach
Lalonde
Danault
McNeill
Leblanc
Teravainen
LeBlanc. He may get an earlier look because they will be looking at centre
Kevin Hayes
Ross
Hartman
Shalunov
Nordquist-based on the parent ckub's possible need at defensive centre...
You can read NHL.com 30 in 30 all day but you are ALWAYS be able to project forwards before most defenseman unless the parent club is really weak there and must fast track the kid deemed a mistake usually....
Stanton
Johns
Clendening
Olsen
This band of four can push each other to the front of the line because all can Improve and tale qualitative jumps but I just don't see the parent club looking to fast track them in the next two unless they actually steal away jobs.
I have been one of Olsen's staunchest critics from the get go the early callup when they had no one else, and he looked shaken, but HE STILL HAS TIME even if he is being look past by the experts that make these dumb lists...
Hayden
Holl
Fournier
Calnan
(Here is where you hope to strike gold...if these three make the parent club...)
Paliotta
Dahlstrom
Dahlbeck
Norell
Press
T Brown
(again it could gold if you get a regular or two from this bunch....)
Motte
The brothers Broadhurst
Hinostrosa

Pirri as the 3LW and Saad as the 2C or Saad as the 3LW and Pirri as the 2C is good either way. There is lots of competition and I just hope it brings out the best in these young guys. |

Pirri has to play centre.
I have seen both McNeill and Danault in top international play where they always seem to be delegated to wing, and both may only see a random face off there.
I am not saying they are not good players, just their fortunes seem tied to playing the LW...where both have played internationally not RW (where that NHL 30/30 has Danault). Mcneill and Danault can line up anywhere and probably will, but even the right handed McNeil seems to drift to his off hand left side to attack ala Jerome Iginla... |

You have both Beach and Lalonde pretty high. Do you think Lalonde eve laces them up for the Blackhawk's organization again?
What about Anthony "Mighty Mouse" Louis????

I think that lists are no good unless you put the guys closer to success and failure CLOSER on the list because the club needs to know a player or not...sooner not later.
You only get 50 negotiation places to fill so beach and allowed are soon guys one way or another.
Forget the mentality that just because a guy looks like a role player means he isn't worthy of that final look and chances....

I'll let that be decided after the season begins...if he generates offense, and is close to 50/ 50, he gets help there and works hard to better his totals.
There are lots of great face off men in the NHL who can't elevate in all the other phases...anyway when was that EVER a huge concern by the organization except when the playoffs roll around?
It seemed last season it was more of an issue here on this board than on the team....

I don't think Pirri is really ever going to be someone to lean on in the faceoff circle. At best, I think he'll give you something in the 40% range.
More of my concern about Pirri is whether he can adapt to the physical play in the NHL, to the point where he isn't going to get pushed around, or at least not psyche himself out when play gets rough out on the ice. |

I could view him as a sniper that will shy away from contact, this year. If he scores 20+ goals that would be awesome (if he is on the 2nd line). As long as he plays defense. I think he will eventually get stronger (he is only 22) and will grow into a guy that will be a little more physical (sharp physicality would be his peak).
My main concern about him is his defensive ability and playing as a two-way forward..... |

Based on what? I've been watching the guy for the past 3 seasons. I've seen enough to really question if that happens at all. |

No stadium playlist is complete, or really even legitimate without some Queen.

Just common sense..... When guys consistently lift, they get stronger.... I am sure all the Blackhawk players are on a weight regimen. Whether or not that makes him more physical is yet to be seen, but I think, just looking at his height an build, if he man's up he could get to the physicality of Sharp. |

Yeah, I'm not buying that crap.
The problem is more than a "weightlifting" problem. It's a psychological thing that I've seen for the last three seasons. Pirri gets pushed around, Pirri pouts, Pirri goes into a mini-funk out on the ice. |

That may be true in Rockford, but if he pulls it here guys like Toews, Sharp, Keith, etc., will rid him of that "psychological thing" or he'll find himself out of chances, and back in the Rock. |
