"With the first overall pick, the Flames select.. Mark Jankowski." - fry
He's going to be tied to that pick forever. If Jankowski works out then Feaster's scout looks like a magician. If he doesn't, and the next group of players taken after him all have solid careers I think it would be hard for Feaster to find work after that.
I'm in the camp that Jankowski wasn't the right pick and probably would have been there in 2nd round, but if I'm wrong you can remind me in 10 years or so. |

Ottawas been doing great drafting in the past 5 years, Philly hasn't done terribly, I think they stole Couturier, and tampa has not done well at all drafting ever since feaster was there...any idiot would have taken stamkos...drouin was the right pick for their team though, but again, at that point, it was between him and seth jones...they needed to replace st louis before anyone else...they've done that now - annoyance_101
I'll slow down a bit for you
Ottawa took Ceci and Tampa took Koekkoek ahead of Janko yet they were not invited to camp.
Philly took Morin who was invited ahead of Porrier.
I think they are all good picks right now, but if we are judging 13 and 2 months after the draft, Koekkoek, Ceci and Morin are duds if losers like Janko and Porrier are selected to Team Canada camps ahead of them. |

Let me slow it down even further, last I checked there's more openings for forwards than defencemen. Canada usually brings a more experienced D corps to the WJC, too. Which is why Wotherspoon made the team before some of the draft eligible kids and why Finn will probably make it in place of someone who will be a better NHLer. |

Assuming Seiloff goes on to have a better career than the players picked between 14 and him. |

Feasters/Wiesbrod Flames Drafting
2011
Sven Baertschi
Marcus Granlund
Tyler Wotherspoon
John Gaudreau
Laurent Brossoit
-VERY good draft for Jay Feaster and Jon Weisbrod
2012
Mark Jankowski
Patrick Sieloff
Jon Gillies
Brett Kulak
Ryan Culkin
Coda Gordon
Mathew Deblouw
-Not quite as good, Jankowski has a ton of raw potential, Sieloff looks to me like an warrener type nhler, but Jon Gillies is easily our best prospect out of that draft.
2013
Sean Monahan
Emile Poirier
Morgan Klimchuk
Keegan Kanzig
Eric Roy
Tim Harrison
Rushan Rafikov
John Gilmour
-Top side of the draft looks good, Harrison and Kanzig were pleasant surprises at the rookie camp - kickazzflames
Terravainen & Shinkurak >>> Jankowski & Poirier
Why does Feaster even have his own draft board, he'd have better luck going to the magazine stand and using one of those.

I was surprised when the Leafs passed on Shinkaruk, but I was shocked when Calgary passed on him for someone who would probably have been available when they picked a few spots later. |

I think Monahan will play 9, then should do a yr until we move stajan and cammy.
It's going to be a 2a,2b,2c type year with the hot streak line getting to play more - numbear
Exactly the line up I can see. |

Based on what piece of evidence that eludes the rest of us?????

Would you guys have rather picked Girgensons at 14? I come in peace and am just wondering if you look down upon trading back. |

I'm not attacking you guys either, I just didn't think Calgary picked as well as they could have. But as I've said before I'm not a scout so my opinion doesn't matter anymore than the next guy's.
It really depends on the team picking. I Think Buffalo made the right choice with Girgensons as they're set at centre with Hodgeson, Grigorenko and Girgensons, but I don't think trading down is a bad idea either. You guys did well getting Seiloff in the 2nd round, I think the Leafs would've been interested in him if Finn wasn't on the board still. |

Personally, I am a huge CoHo fan. With his 70pt ceiling, may wind up being our 1C.mHe got 34pts last year and wasn't even on the 1st PP. Granted, the PP sucked, but that still held him back from being a 38-40 pt guy. |

If we're being honest I'm thoroughly jealous of your prospect pool. I would've been happy if the Leafs picked up Ristolainen or Zadorov or Compher... greedy (frank)s. |

Ha ha, that's good then. I still think that it lacks elite prospects. It possesses many 2nd liners and good D, but there are very few 1st line/elite prospects. The Sabres should fix that when they trade Vanek and draft in the top 3. |

They would then draft 1st overall for the next 5 years and become the Edmonton Oilers 2.0. |
