i think Christian Thomas is Tom Pyatt 2.0. i don't understand the whole thing. if Kristo didn't want to play here, why did he sign an ELC? why did Montreal bother signing him to the ELC? wouldn't they have gotten compensation for him not signing? - DoubleDown
I miss Tom Pyatt. Probably my favorite Habs 4th liner in the last few years. |

as a second round pick, I don't really know. I thought that applied only for first round picks (like Fisher)
I don't understand the move either, but Kristo really looks like a complete douche. Bergevin probably didn't liked what he heard from Lapointe and Lefebvre (Kristo played a few games under him at the end of last season).
At least they got something in return. |

i prefer a bit more grit and physicality from a fourth liner with zero offensive upside. |

Tom had a nice speed. He was useful on the PK, when someone would dump the puck and he'd charge, take the cover then fall on it for 15-20 seconds. |

Except the top 2 are older than 2 years and actually developed. You really think that in 3 years, 5th rounders will be top prospects still??? - muffin_man
But you just said we have no prospects from over 2 years ago!
Are you high?
And the Habs have been one of the better teams in the league when it comes to 2nd round picks but our idiot GMs keep trading it away for some scrub rental... |

What I find frustrating in the Kristo trade is that we've been waiting forever for him to be ready to become an adult.
Apparently he wasn't really impressive in the few AHL games he played...I know, that's a small sample. Management must have really been rubbed the wrong way with him, because they told him beforehand that they would be trying to move him at the draft. Didn't happened that day, but just a few days after.
As for Thomas, we'll wait and see. His numbers aren't that bad for a rookie season in the AHL - stinger67
Meh....I doubt Kristo will be anything more than a 60-70 point RW. |

Could use more size...but thats a pretty deep pool of prospects!
Looking forward to seeing the Habs match up with the Leafs, Ott, Boston...with Parros, BigMac, Tinordi and Thrower on the ice. - Jaciems
Gonna be fun, the Habs beefed up this year. Watched a lot of the Bull Dogs last couple and I really like Tinordi, you're gonna like the development of this big shut down guy this year I think.
I hope the Habs and Leafs beat up the Bruins this year, start that yellow and black slide out of the playoff race and into the basement for a few years |

While this would be fantastic, I think the odds are better on the Habs and Leafs crashing back down to earth with Boston and Detroit pounding them pretty consistently over the season. On the bright side, that means higher picks and higher talent young players on the way for both organization. I know the Leafs are the youngest team, but talent is also necessary. Both Habs and Leafs could use more of it imo. |

hmmmm, lets review:
I think it's sad that our top 10 is almost exclusively people drafted in the past couple of years that we have no idea how they will develop. It's like everyone we have for more than a couple of years, we already know they suck... - muffin_man
